Dark Hope - Chapter 1 - Pan Town

Tänya casts cure minor wounds on Solana, leaving her to rest in peace.
Renard is bleeding and unconscious, he loses another hp.
Thonunian casts a enery arrows toward the bear dealing some damage.
Atrus attacks the bear. His weapon hits him in the right leg causing a deep wound. The bear moans in pain.
Ahkash move in a cover and then looses an arrow to the bear. He hits and you all can see his arrow stretch out the chest of the bear.
The bear looks now to Atrus. He bites him on the right harm, dealing 8 damages!
Balpur and Arael move toward the bear.

Remaining in the cover of the stone pillar, the half-elf cursed bitterly, bemoaning his stupidity in following along in general, and the elven druid's for getting him into this in the first place in particular. No doubt she thought she was following some high-minded ideal. Elves usually did.
Even as he drew his next arrow to his cheek, a black portal tore through the fabric of reality in the back of the cave, and through it stepped a strange looking man who could only be a magician.
Ahkash cursed again, violently, and in the instant between inhalation, and the exhalation of another profanity, loosed his arrow at the bear again, before looking back to assess this new potential threat.

The sudden change in pressure due to the opening of the portal causes Tänya to lift her tear-stained face from the neck of Solana and peer into the gloom beyond the bridge. Her angled brows rise in surprise as she surveys the changes occuring.
[I may not be trained in them but...
knowledge: arcana, knowledge: planes and knowledge: religion checks please, if they are allowed untrained in this setting, just in case any are helpful, as well as sense motive on both the bear and newcomer]
Making her way around Solana to the front of her head, Tänya takes the time to place a lingering kiss upon the sunburst blaze on her forehead, then briefly follows the kiss with a gentle touch from her quarterstaff. Rising abruptly, she slings her longbow across her back, and grasping her quarterstaff tightly in one hand, runs as fast as she can down the other tunnel to the bank of the stream directly opposite Renard. She shivers at the cold of the water, but doubts her ability to jump across without doing further harm to the bard. Sliding in, she prepares to wade across.
[from where I am located now, it is 80 feet to the bank just opposite from Renard. Since my speed is 20 feet, that's as far as I can get this round. Move silently as much as possible please]

Drifting in and out of a half-conscious state, Renard is only aware of blood as the roar of violent conflict rages around him. The desire for peace is a strong pull to oblivion and what lies beyond, however the mortal part of him silently cries out against the fading beat of his heart. ”There is still so much I want to do. And none of them involve a magic bear.”
And a blood-choked chuckle manages to escape past his unconscious state…

Ahkash shoots to the bear. He hits and another arrow is present on the chest of the bear.
the new comer looks to the bear and then around you all.
then he rises his black staff and wispers some strange words. Some dark noose spread from the skull on the top of the staff and they catch you all! you are immobilized. You can feel the dark cold negative energy paralyze your body and your mind... you are barely conscious.
Then the man speak to the bear.
"Aliash, why are you wasting your time with that scum?" he haughtily says.
"I'm sorry master... but i wasn't able to finish the work you asked for."
the bear speaks with a guttural voice.
The bear falls on his knees.
"Please forgive me, master!"
The man remain in silence for a while. During this time the chill of the negative energy touch your soul.
"What i want is already done, disciple. Now follow me, and leave this place."
The man turns toward the portal.
"Yes master, as you command!"
The bear become a man and the man start to follow the master. Before he enters the portal he says
"You are luky... luky indeed... i will find you when my master will ask... and i will finish you all!"
then he steps in the portal and it closes in a second.
The terrible chill that had grasped your soul is now faded away.
You all are free to move.

Shaking off the cold from the grip of negative power that had overwhelmed her, Tänya continues towards the bank of the stream at a run and splashes across it as quickly as she can. Kneeling down on the ground next to Renard, she reaches out and probes him as gently as possible, searching out the wounds the bear/man inflicted on him, as well as the still festering wounds from the battle at the farm.
Rummaging in her backpack, she removes what few bandages she has and begins treating the wounds of the silver-tongued man before her. She is torn now about what she had chosen to do for Solana; if she hadn't infused Solana with the positive energy of her last spell she would have had it to help Renard even more than she is now...
"I am sorry, Renard," she whispers in an undertone so that if he were conscious only he would hear. "I believe I had no choice. Please...forgive me my weakness."
Finishing up binding his wounds and placing her backpack under his feet so his legs are elevated, Tänya rises from besides Renard, and begins investigating the cavern.

Atrus raised his arm to ward off attack as the man cast his magicks. His eyes widened with fear and shock as he felt that unholy coldness spread throughout his body. Caught in the spell, he could only watch the power-play unfold in front of his eyes.
When he was released from the spell he quickly readied his sword and, muttering "It couldn't be him", he left to search around the area where the strange men had come from.

The natural amplification of water smoothed stone picks up Atrus' muttering, enough so Tänya's elfin ears discern what he said. Couldn't be whom? she wonders. The bard had sung of free will, but the shroud of fate descending, mixed in with the sharp pain of grief for her companion, was weighing on the druid's senses. She was weary. Weary to the core and soul of her being. She desperately needed to rest, yet Renard first needed to be brought to the clerics of The Kind One at Her church.
Making her way towards the altar where Solana had been slain, she is taken aback by the sight of the rune of the roots reaching deep in to the earth. She walks to the other side, expecting to see Matheris' tree rune on the opposite side, as it had been on the wheel lock of the stone pillar above...
As she wanders around the stalagmite she calls out to the others, "Does anyone recognize this holy symbol? It is obviously the opposite of Matheris' symbol, yet it is unknown to me. Strange that it joined with Matheris' symbol to form a whole which opened the pillar above..."

He nods back to the still form of the horse on the ground, and continues, "I have heard that some of the more powerful priests can bring back the dead, but, we would have to drag your horse's body if we want to take the small chance that even the leader of the church is that strong."

Her entire body clenched, and with head thrown back and fists clamped down at her sides from deep within her being, deeper than she had yet ever gone before, an instinctive scream welled up inside her, until it had to be released.
"No!!!!!"
The force of the scream released the tension of her body, but her sorrow and anger at all that had happened still colored her thoughts for now. Taking a deep breath to try and steady herself, she turned back to the other pure blood.
"Do you not understand?" she hissed towards him. "I sacrificed my ability to help you all for now to set Solana at peace. Once we leave here, and reclose yon entrance above, this is as good a mausoleum as one could wish.
"Well...unless the one called Aliash should return the way he left...
"Pan Town is a tiny village. I sincerely doubt one as powerful as you suggest would be found in the church here. But the idea is sound; there would be no harm in asking if such is possible. And if one could be found willing to attempt to return Solana to me, she is better off waiting here, sealed inside this cavern, then for us to drag her to the village on the slight chance it can be done. If one can be found who can bring her back to me, I will ask that one to accompany me back here instead."
Once again tears flowing down her face, the elven druid returns to exploring the cavern and learning what she can of what happened there, staying clear of the magick the warrior sorcerer plans to cast.
[ooc]just to make it clear... the pale man-bear was seriously wounded. If the other man wasn't on time you could probably kill him. I want to say that because someone said you were hopeless against him

Tänya uses her bandages to treating the wounds of Renard. When she finished Renard is stabilized and his life is no more in danger, but he still unconscious.
the group starts to search the cave. After some minutes you can find an improvised altar with some chains. The altar is nothing more than a cutted stalagmite. You can see a symbol carved in the altar, it seems a sort of root that grows deep in the ground (a picture will be posted shortly).
near the altar a lot of scattered gold, silver and copper coins. you gather them and you can see that they are a total of 1000gp!
You find the rests of some human body. You assume that they was merchant and that Aliash, the pale man probably robbed them after killing them.
You find also a studded leather armor on the ground... it seems that Aliash tried to use some part of the armor to protect his undead creatures. Anyway the armor can be used.
The armor is studded with bones.
You can't find anything else.

"You are so desperate... i can feel your pain. But i'm not the only one... you forget your faith... remember... the gods are watching you... and they are not far from you as you could think..."
"Solaris is close to you even now..."
He smiles to you as you can't imagin the goblin could do... the smile is full of pity.
"You have a gift. Use it on your horse and pray for her soul. The gods answer to those that really seek for them, for those that really belive in them. Solaris wants only you love, Tanya. Give it to her, for a moment, and you could have a great gift as reward..."
