Cheers will do. The idea was that Raphaelus was trying to be sociable, and not trying to be rude, but failing due to his demeanor. The other player can act how he wishes. I don't intend to do it again.Dorian wrote:Ill allow the dice rolling this time around, but I would much rather one roleplay their actions rather than turn it into a series of dice roles and explanations. In future if you would rather a dice decide things for your self feel free to do so, but Id rather you just write the description of events accordingly rather than listing the die rolls and how the other player must act. An example would be just being rude to Louis as opposed to the roll results etc.
So by all means let the twists of fate decide how you play the game, but go about it a little differently

To worship the ancient ones.
In the glow of a dying red sun,
Their rites of evil have only just begun...

I'm a bit curious about the real life legalities of me playing a character who then hits on another character who has reached the age of majority in our fictitious universe, but is still a minor based on my real life country.
Especially if everybody involved knows she's fictitious.
Think I saw something about the US Supreme Court trying to declare a nationwide standard for obscenity...

And by "sorry" I meant "in prison".
I wouldn't worry about it. They don't have legal authority to prosecute a writer for depicting what people may think is lewd or profane, so you'd be fine here. As long as you didn't descend into pornography I wouldn't see a problem with it. I've read more extreme stuff in the works of big name authors. James Ellroy's LA Quartet leaps to mind.

So... Alberto Gonzales is no longer in office (he went away even before Bush did), but... we did have the FBI task force on obscenity. Perhaps I'm being overly paranoid...
They get laughed out of town every time they try to prosecute pornographers, as it's really a complete waste of time. Anyway, you weren't proposing to write pornography in this game, so I don't see why there would be any possible moral/legal conflict.
I once ran an adventure online (through Mesembria, a forum dedicated to WFRP) in which the climax was a beastman raping a village virgin while a cult watched on...it then tore the throat out of a younger girl, before Dorian's PC chased it and put an end to its horror. There was another adventure in which I discussed a Nurgling having eaten a baby. Surely some people would find these things profane, yet I never once felt like my liberties were in danger.
You can go into Borders and buy yourself a copy of any one of the Marquis de Sade's works of 'literature', and many of those include sequences of quite extreme sex, which be would classified as illegal if carried out in the real world. I don't see why you should be worried about prosecution for having a character in a fictional world trying to win onto a fictional character, who is below the age of consent in our real world.

I'll be away for a night or two, and may not be able to post again until Monday. I gave a bunch of generic instructions in my last post, because I don't want to tie players up in the meantime.

GOOD NEWS
I managed to survive the busiest week of my current career despite copious amounts of stress and issues thrown my way, so shall be updating this game sometime tomorrow as well as making my characters debut over at Rogue Trader and then getting Jimmy to kick some ass on requiem.
Very ecstatic right now.
