free
forbearance
horror

Fighting down his rising nausea, the keeper approached the cage, reluctant to free the...entity...kept secure within. Wiping sweat from his eyes with his free hand, he regretted not showing more forebearance in his past treatment of the thing. Flicking the latch open, he waited, rooted to the spot in horror, as the the cage door silently and slowly swung ajar, exposing its hidden charge - a living, breathing, malevolent neon pink pair of corduroy underpants.

morass astrolabe hamster

Three days later, the thing had multiplied, filling the mansion with a morass of pink. Concerned neighbors found it chuckling to itself, one pocket twiddling with an astrolabe while a ridge of pink tufts writhed happily around the stair banister. All that remained of the keeper was a hairpiece not much bigger than a hamster.

chicanery

The gladiator prowled in decreasing circles about the enormously obese pie merchant, unfazed by his opponent's feeble attempts at finger puppet-based chicanery. However, the piemonger now began to unveil his masterstroke, as he quickly began to strip down to only his underpants. As the gladiator faltered in bafflement, the cunning pastry vendor struck his final blow - a merry, bouncing jig, accompanied tunelessly on a balsa wood viola.

(try not to take "unveiled his masterstroke" the wrong way, people ;) 8O )

absorbant moose spacewalk

The absorbent qualities of my anti-perspirant were failing miserably. As I launched into my impromptu speech for the judges, I suddenly felt like an improperly-taxidermied moose head mounted on the wall of some celestial night club. Midway through my hellos, time dilated and I began what seemed like a 4-hour spacewalk through a 5-minute speech.

wobbly flagrant peccadillo

Feeling a little wobbly in my high-heeled shoes, I tiptoed down the catwalk. This was a flagrant disregard of modeling technique. No mere peccadillo, this -- I was supposed to be demonstrating that the latest fashion in spike heels was possible to walk on!

grapple

Cursing as I continued to grapple with the infernal Underpants of Honesty, I attempted to avoid hearing the next question posed by my inquisitor. My stomach knotted as the dread query reached my ears, demanding, by the power of the pants, a candid answer. "Does my bum look big in this?" she demanded, and I wiped the slick of sweat from my palm as my mouth began to frame a Y...

ostrich solder flannelette

I slipped my ostrich feather headdress into place. A little solder fastened it to my gilded shoulder harness, and a practice dance kick assured me it was firmly anchored. The tiny flannelette train completing my costume was a secret memento, a square of fabric borrowed from my innocent baby asleep at home.

Peering through the scratched glass of his visor, Dennis was able to determine that the mass of underpants seemed to be held together by some form of mucilage. He looked around, aghast, as more of the free-floating underpants began to conjugate, forming larger and larger clumps. Fortunately, these newly formed pant creatures were still sufficiently torpid to enable Dennis to make his escape.

(pish, you'll have to do better than that to thwart my inclusion of pants! :| )

noodle yodel parp

The chef worked far into the night perfecting his new idea – a spinach noodle strudel. Finally it was finished, and he was so happy that he headed for home with a total yodel. It was such a nourishing confection that, as he drove, he made plans to send it to AARP’s PARP unit, hoping they would campaign for it along with the rest of their recommended Heart-Healthy Diets for Seniors.

distribute
blazon
tyranical

King Nom IX, last of the respected house of Nom, was known primarily during his reign for a tendency to distribute woollen underpants to all his subjects, regardless of social or financial standing, once a year. On annual Pants Day, the king would order his courtiers to blazon the exterior of the royal abode with banners festooned with a stylised pants design. Sadly, King Nom's apparent generosity in matters pertaining to undergarments failed to negate the resentment of his otherwise morbidly tyrannical rule.

Roberta had always been querulous, but the crowds refusal to dissipate as she tried to get the pantaloons out of the tree would surely make things much worse.

You do not hear, and so you cannot be redeemed.

In the name of their ancient pride and humiliation, they had made commitments with no possible outcome except bereavement.

He knew only that they had never striven to reject the boundaries of themselves.

Re: Sentence game

Ur-Vile wrote:To play the sentence game, someone writes three words (any words, don't have to be connected) and another person has to place those words in three sentences (each word to a sentence). The sentences have to relate to each, as in a very short story. The challenge is for someone to get three words that would be hard to make a story with. Oh and you can only use three sentences

I think variol son meant 'elucidate' because I couldn't find 'illucidate' in the dictionary. Anyway...

elucidate

Lenin was not exactly being honest when he went to elucidate his ideas to the masses. Communism was an interesting theory to talk about, but the Bolsheviks just became another oligarchy ruling the people. Lenin gave as much thought to democracy as he did to wiping his snot.

poltroon hyetal fard

The most rewarding part of school for Harry was playing the poltroon, because his classmates found him much more fun to watch than the teacher. After graduation he was hired to teach Outdoor School in Hawaii – an unfortunate career choice due to its hyetal climate. Harry couldn’t resist dressing up in costume and makeup, and every time it rained, his forestal fard would become streaks fit to frighten children.

MM, you got me with this one. Those were really hard words.

debilitate cacophony agiotage (thank you for this one, TRC )

He knew his investments would continue to grow as his body continued to debilitate, that was just the way life was. No more the cacophony of the Exchange floor. No more phones buzzing in the flurry of agiotage; the time had come to leave such excitements to others, and to reap the opulent fruits in silence.
