Pardon me,but after seeing the team get their ass handed to them by Arkansas last week,I was less than optimistic about the game with The Gators.In fact,you will never hear me brag befor a game for fear of getting burned.I am however quick to brag after a game,and also just as quick to rub someones nose in their bold predictions that did not pan out.Bad winner?bad sport?possibly,but if you had to endure years of torment from arrogant,butthole Bama fans like all Auburn fans in the state of Alabama have had to,you might be a little messed up in the head where football is concerned too.Fact is Alabama has no pro teams to pull for,as far as football is concerned you have Auburn and Alabama.I have been an Auburn fan since I could say WAR EAGLE,thrue thick and thin and I always will be an Auburn fan.Auburn has been on a roll for a while and has claimed the spot as the #1 football program in the state and I am as happy as hell about this.Please pardon my rubbing your nose in it,but you did a really good job of setting yourself up for it.Sorry if I offended you.

Sunbane, you did not offend me my man. But I did feel it was necessary to point out that you yourself risked nothing prior to the game, which does diminish your ability to "rub my nose in it." If you had believed in your team enough to hazard an opinion that I was wrong before the game, you might have cause for more satisfaction. Indeed, your silence is a kind of acquiescence to my opinion. Apparently we were both wrong. The only difference is that you are happy about it and I am not. So while Auburn may have achieved victory on the football field, you have no victory of your own to celebrate. Allow me to quote Theodore Roosevelt:
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. And, as I mentioned before, the final chapter on this season is not yet written. Care to hazard a guess as to how it will go if Auburn meets UF in the SECCG?

We cool man,we cool.Perhaps we could have a pint or two of Guinness togeather sometime.I actually like The Gators and pull for them,just not when they are not playing Auburn.

I say UF takes it to 'em if AU/UF meet in Atlanta.

Could happen that way,Auburn will either emerge strong after this game and go undefeated the rest of the year,or have another meltdown and not even make it to Atlanta.I do know that although Tubberville is prone to meltdowns,he is also great at pulling out of one.

IIRC, (SBG correct me on this) but Auburn has 2 official mascots, Tigers and the War Eagles. I'm not sure why, maybe SBG will fill us in.

They are the Auburn Tigers and our battle cry is War Eagle,or "War Damn Eagle" as has become popular among the intense or intoxicated.Our mascots are Aubie and 'Tiger' the golden eagle (there have been many Tigers much like there have been many Ugas at Georgia).Befor home games Tiger is released and flies several circles around Jordan-Hare stadium.Here is one explanation for War Eagle:
An Auburn student fighting in the Civil War's Battle of the Wilderness in 1864 was severely wounded and left on the Virginia battlefield for dead. His companion when he regained consciousness was a wounded baby eagle, which he nursed back to health.

The ex-soldier returned to Auburn and eventually became a member of the faculty. He attended the Tigers' first game, against Georgia on Feb. 20, 1892. The eagle, called War Eagle, was with him and got loose.

When fans saw the familiar bird soaring over the field, they shouted "War Eagle.'' The bird died after Auburn's 10-0 victory, but his name and his heroic flight are honored to this day.
Be this the truth or not,it sure feels great to say War Eagle.

Any predictions for today's FL/GA game? Y'all know whom I'm rooting for, but I won't talk smack before this game. I think GA il take out their frustrations on FL this afternoon. And, I was not happy after the second half two weeks ago.

Ga is very weak this year, frustrations or not I don't see them beating the Gators. :(

TN plays South Carolina today - oh, how I would love to see Spurrier throw his hat today!

Coach Spurrier had a bye week when UF held the 10th annivesary celebration of the National Championship (remember, so far UF's only had one). They brought back the team to honor them (Even Emmit Smith was there), and Coach Spurrier came too. For a rival coach, he as welcomed pretty warmly back to The Swamp. I don't think things will go as smoothly when Carolina comes to The Swamp to play in a few weeks.

I just don't get it...

Sure, we (barely) won our game against Georgia, and we're in the top 4?!? What is it with the people and/or computers who run these polls? There's no way we're in the same class as the top 3 teams. At least, IMHO...
