Amusing as this banter was (almost a year ago), where we find ourselves now is that WF has almost 40,000 WGD. Let's hold him to "You guarantee the players, and I will guarantee the game."

I don't usually participate, but I have always enjoyed lurking on this thread, and it would be nice to see it active again.

I guarantee lurking, and possible participation.

It's a minimalist Dalek, new from Amazon's robot uprising collection.

Still needs work though, Kindle has a travel guide to Antarctica on my recommended reading list.

That's what they want you to think, but the eyes on top give it away.

Ahh! In spite of the minimal awareness I have of Daleks...
...I like the way your snark works.

The "eyes" are not the threat, but the ears.

That image SD posted is an Amazon Echo, Nice play on the prior posts, but maybe too subtle.

Yes, Echo works as a speaker, but it also is always listening, like a physical Siri in your house. Fine, if you trust it...but it obviously hears everything, not just what you say to it.

Creepy much?

Considering my usual level of snark where robots are involved, I probably shouldn't come within 50 yards of one of those.

(I got the pun, but didn't realize the Echo was anything more than a fancy speaker.)

Much creepy.

I sometimes wonder if they really are trying to destroy the concept of privacy.

We humans are hilarious.

Privacy gets hotly debated... people signal that they are willing to fiercely defend their privacy...

And then people turn around and are like, "you'll give us free programs? That everyone else is using? Okay!"

Or - in this case - "Youll let me buy a piece of hardware that will amuse me? Other people are doing it? Okay!"

Don't know if taking advantage of our human tendencies is the same as it being our own fault...
