Sarge: Yeah, you're supposed to put water in the glass, put a sugar cube on the special spoon that came with it, and then pour the absinthe over the spoon.
It's supposed to be hallucinogenic. . . the box features a self-portrait of Van Goh--some say that he was drink on absinthe when he cut off his ear. Go us. . . 
Oh. . by the way, it isn't technically legal to have absinthe in the US. . . at the very least you cannot buy it or have it imported or shipped in any way.
*shrugs* The law comes from the days when anyone and everyone was making absinthe, and who knew what strength brew you would get. . . some could be deadly. Now there is really only one manufacturer. . . and only on bar in Paris where they serve it.
