You'll have to co-cook with Tam, but yeah we'll put you to work!
Here's the potential prob with the oven: we just bought this huge 5 burner Kenmore Elite with two ovens, however our wiring is so old we can't connect it (it is hooked up to the gas). Once we do the remodel it'll work...the question is how soon do we remodel? I'm going to try hold off on it until right after E-fest-so we can use the backyard. If any baking needs to be done we can use my crazy neighbor's oven. You guys will love Dale, she'll be over here during E-fest for any and all parties!

Hmmm...
Anyone have any of those 16-to-20 quart roaster ovens? Those will work as back up as well.

OK, people. I think I am coming to this one!
I will be bringing my best friend with me; he has been here at the watch, but never really a member. One of the first things we found out about each other was that we had read TCTC, which facilitated our friendship.
This is a surprise to him, I wont tell him until we are about to leave. I am in league with his wife on this. He is having a rough year, and I think bringing him to this event and actually getting to meet SRD will be a good thing for him. not to mention me meeting SRD, which I have always wanted to do since I started reading his work.
SO, I am assuming its OK for us to show up; I will go back through the thread and find out which hotel, etc and I am looking forward to finally meeting some of the watchers I have come to enjoy reading and jousting with.

Menolly, I'm arriving in Denver on Thursday, too, but it's mainly to bum around the city for a day. I lived in Denver briefly and loved it, so I tend to jump at any excuse to go back.
Dunno if Southwest flies to anywhere in Florida...but they had a one-way Internet rate of $99 from DC to Denver earlier this week. Their flights don't show up on websites like Expedia -- you have to book from the Southwest website.
I'll be flying out of Albuquerque on Tuesday. (I discovered today that the museums in Santa Fe are open on Mondays in the summer -- yay!!!)
Danlo, if worst comes to worst, I know how to make a box oven.

Speaking of dAN, I may have a traveling companion from TIA!! If he can work it out, is there room for dAN in the convoy from Denver to Albuquerque?

This is what happened the last time-I made reservations in a large party room at Garduno's and gave something like a $50 deposit for a sitting room where we shot the interview vid. The room was nice enough but the window where SRD sat was right next to a busy street. The 'drown-out sound' wouldn't have been a problem if the remote mike worked, but it didn't and we didn't have a back-up (well we did but it was in Santa Fe). Everybody chipped in and somehow everything came out even.
Menolly, don't worry about food or lodging--I still owe Creator some bucks for paying for half my ticket to Spamalot at DC fest. Our couch is yours, our we can set up a second bed, but you'll have to sleep with the baby (she sleeps through the night). And if you help cook all your food's on us.
We had one fantastic party in our backyard--but I think that was Sunday. Earlier in the day, Saturday, Tam held a High Tea at 3 or so then everybody went back to their hotel rooms to get ready for the dinner. We also had "meet up breakfasts" out on Fri and Sat.
(what I should do on Friday is misdirect everyone to a seedy bar and rent Vespas so my old dream can come true! )

Well they've shut dow the Yucca, The Blue Spruce and Sonny's burned down (inside Albq. joke). Tell daniella that Joe's Place at Carraro's is my old stomping ground.
