But what is connecting four? It's only a perception we have, not necessarily what the databanks see...

neděleding!

(Fun fact to know and tell: in Czech, the verb for "to do" is dělat. To negate a word, you use the prefix ne-. The word for Sunday is neděle -- the day of the week on which you do nothing.)

Five for středading!

Turns out střed means "center" -- which makes středa the perfect name for the day in the middle of the week.

I think it's kind of cool that Czech (and other Slavic languages) use useful words for the days of the week.

Monday is pondělí. Wiktionary posits that it's a contraction, more or less, of "po neděle" -- the day after Sunday.

Thursday is čtvrtek, from the word for the number 4. Friday is pátek, from the number 5. Saturday is sobota, which seems also to be an alternate word for sabbath.

Tuesday is úterý, and útes is the word for a cliff or promontory. Not sure what that has to do with Tuesday, but.... (Must research further....)

Probably not interesting to anybody but me, but there ya go.

EDITED to add: Aha! The word for Tuesday comes from the Old Slavonic word for "second." I am so glad I looked into this. I've been wondering for years what the names of the days of the week meant...
