Took my younger two in to get their claws professionally trimmed, and their new nicknames are Fluff & Wiggle.

Mine need their claws...it's a cat eat cat world out there.
Penny brought in a large and very live rat yesterday afternoon.
Only noticed because the little bugger escaped under the oven and Penny was trying desperately to jam herself under there.
A jolly 45 minutes was spent relocating cats and furniture and getting the damn thing out. I planned on catching it and releasing it a suitably safe distance away, but he made a break for it and got out. Must have been lucky, because none of them managed to track him down and bring him back.

Trimmed is different than declawed. However, I think outdoor cats claws are naturally trimmed by the various surfaces they deal with outside.

Yep. They'll grow back pretty quickly, but I'll have at least a couple of weeks where they don't stick to me. I usually do it myself, but Phedre queued twice when they were handing out squirminess, and sometimes it's just easier to pay to have it done versus one claw here and there when she's sleepy or distracted.

Ha, mine trim theirs by merrily clawing everything in their path, including (and perhaps especially) me.
(Yeah, I know about the de-clawing...I don't hold with it.)

Mine have a variety of things to claw (both approved and unapproved), but still benefit from occasional help. Not gonna drag out my soapbox regarding declawing, but if your lifestyle can't accommodate a clawed animal, one should consider adopting something more innocuous. A goldfish, perhaps. Or a shrubbery.

One must not adopt a single shrubbery. The do not do well without association with their own kind.
First you must find... another shrubbery! Then, when you have found the shrubbery, you must place it here, beside this shrubbery, only slightly higher so you get a two layer effect with a little path running down the middle.
