something's been itching in the back of my mind...Again, for heaven's sakes, go Episcopal! But go that path because it is TRUE, not because it is pleasant, or merely because you happen to like it at the moment (a fickle thing that could change with the winds of your feelings). You can examine the history and find whether there is not a form of the faith even more true at your leisure.
I've been thinking that most people end up getting "burned" on churches because of unresolved conflict.
because if church is a "church family"... when you get "closer" and start to see ppl "warts and all," conflict is inevitable... wondering if you have someone to talk or an idea of what you'll do when that comes... (of course, that might already be transpiring by now.)
"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor
"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."
-Elisabeth Elliot, Preface, "A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael"
