Clarifitications:
1) we are not a court. Xar has made it clear that there are no more oracles or Divine Right to be had. We do have a forum, which Xar has access to, so it's all legit with him.
2)the post was supposed to go into the story forum, so my bad.

It has no real effect on the World At Large, it's just fluff. Make-Zephyr-Crap-His-Pants-Fluff.

I did consider the messaging being burnt into the bark of mighty uprooted trees, just to upset him
The stones were just cooler.
And sorry murrin, but i havnt read P2 at all, so sorry for the theft of intellectual property. Its purely accidental

Also, Id quickly like to point something out.
Alot of people seem to mistake my followers thoughts, opinions etc with the voids.
Now, when i post in the story thread, its always from the perspective of a follower. And its not necessarily of them doing something i agree with. For example, the execution post i submitted was actually the act of fanatics. All of you who thought that was scholar, well sorry, but hes slightly better looking.
I just say this as I know people have acted on perceived knowledge gained from my story posts that arent actually the case I dont really wanna throw everyones priests down holes, I dont really call orcs bad names in my own times, and also, just cause my followers dont think yall exist doesnt mean i do

On my part, I didn't think that execution was the Scholar; I just thought you secretly supported the half of your following you keep presenting as radical, unreasonable fanatics.

Well, I for one, appreciate the postings and the good discussion. Our game thread has been sorely quiet throughout this game and I like to see all the posts. This makes the game more fun!

Damn! I couldn't find it to quote but - that chopsticks line from Balon was bloody hilarious. I always knew Asia had the most enlightened form of cutlery.

[OOC Post - Devaguhya will consider Eclipses
actions before he responds

1) I have no problem with the Alliance
2) I think it's announcement has livened things up!
3) I accept that you do not intend the announcement 'story' to have in game impact per following posts:
Dorian wrote:As for the stones, they are just game fluff, a way to present the message, Of no use in game terms.
Montresor wrote:As for an inter-turn event...what was that? If you mean the stone carvings, that's just a piece of colour Dorian added to his description. No game effect at all.
Dorian wrote:
and again, not an event, just the alliance coming out of the closet

Dorian wrote:No DRP simply means it has no effect in game. sure, in the story everyone knows about the stones, but in the games, makes no difference. mortal dont act any different, we dont suddenly get followers or nothing. its all background colour.
Montresor wrote:
I expect to get no in-game benefit from that at all. ... If Xar thinks the carvings warrant DRP expenditure, we can do one of two things - spend DRP, or simply edit the description.
What is important here is the message itself, not the medium.
Balon wrote: ... 2)the post was supposed to go into the story forum, so my bad.

It has no real effect on the World At Large, it's just fluff.
However, those of you in P2 remember that Xar uses EVERYTHING posted to factor into game events. Contest entries; game stories; game thread; and submitted turns ALL impact gameplay. Sometimes even comment chat! So ... my advice ... edit the 'colour' out - or be prepared to spend DRP.
As an example: this is from my current turn - post my game entry:
AllFather wrote:A group of your followers, having heard your mythology, have decided that, rather than following your way, they'll worship the AllFather of which your scriptures speak, considering him to be the true creator and master of Eiran. They build shrines to him and worship him openly.
Other's from P2 can relate similar (and more impactful) activities that flowed from game thread dialogue and stories.

That's a valid point. Not being a Pantheon veteran, I hadn't considered that (nor had Dorian, obviously). To edit it out now would seem a cheat. I'd be happy to hear from Xar about this, to see whether or not he thinks it warrants DRP expenditure. As in all matters of the rules mechanics, I'll defer to his judgement.
Of course, a DRP xpenditure would probably imply we get some kind of benefit from it. I'd be happy to waive said benefit to make things easier.

A Retcon edit of the post might be better. As you and Dorian have suggested - our gameplay is a mosaic in a larger story ... it is 'jarring' to have such a discontinuity between the published story ... and gameplay impact.
If I might suggest ... edit the post ... and ask Xar how much DRP to expend to get your colour and message sent.
Murrin is correct! That little RAT Maeror

was especially effective in communicating directly to the God of Destruction and Chaos's followers ... caused me untold trouble to try to unwind the defections!!

I think he did the same to Adomorn!!

Given an actual choice, I'd rather not spend the DRP, which is why I say editing it out would feel like a cheat. I'd rather Xar dictate whether or not it's simply "fluff" or if it costs. So, even though Dorian added that on his own volition, I wouldn't begrudge the Eclipse members paying some small cost.

Seeing as I edited it and it seemed to appear out of nowhere if necessary I would be happy to bear the cost of the actions. Will say the void ordered it

Arghhh why oh why did I choose a non vocal god??? This is getting frustrating.
