I got an e-mail from Amazon, too! Except mine said they had a problem with my credit card... I thought they had charged the card when I placed the preorder in April, but no, they waited 'til they were ready to ship, and in between, the bloody card had expired.

So now they're planning to ship today with delivery Wednesday. I guess that's good enough. <pout> It's my own darn fault, I guess. But still.

The book is now at:
US: #131
UK: #137

Moving upward. I expect it'll jump over the course of tomorrow.

I've still not ordered--I'm waiting for the survey website I participate in to credit me what I'm owed so I can get an Amazon voucher.

So my order is just hanging in limbo from Amazon. :? Why did Amazon ship to some people and not to others? What makes you people so dang special? :-x

People who live west of the Rockies should be the first to have it shipped dammit! SRD lives west of the Rockies too! :-x

I remember reading that Amazon rankings are very unreliable. What I mean by that is often one book can be sold and the Amazon rank can jump a couple of hundred points.

That said: the Amazon ranking a month or two ago was almost around 2000 in books, and for Fantasy novels I think it was almost at 200...so.... :)

I got confirmation from Amazon on Sunday October 7th that my order had shipped. They estimate arrival on October 16th. That stinks, but it's only an estimate. I usually get stuff in three days from them, but I don't know where the book is coming from. I'm on vacation this week and the 14th is my birthday, so I'm really hoping for an early gift. I peeked on SRD's site and read some of the first two chapters (darn those addictions!) and kicked myself, but I remember very little, so I will still be good. I'm looking forward to it, but the three-year wait for Ending will be very very very hard. Come on, guys, you know it's already been written. Why so long of a wait????

I've got at least another two weeks before my copy crosses the pond! (Actually, since I haven't finished Runes yet, I have to wait anyway. Still, gah.)

Mine has been shipped from Amazon (just got confirmation). Expected here around the 22nd. Amazingly enough: it's cheaper to buy from the US (including postage) than buying it here in Australia. The book and shipping from Amazon cost me $33 Australian dollars. The UK edition (released in a couple of weeks here) has a recommended retail of $49.95!

I bought a new copy of The One Tree the other day.

US price: 7.50

Canadian price: 10.00

The bookseller couldn't understand why I was laughing uncontrollably.

Now that FR's arrival is imminent, I will take a short leave of the Watch to avoid spoilers as I devote all my attention to the book. Happy reading, everyone!
