Finally decided to listen to everyone else and jump on the Adele bandwagon, then made a playlist of Adele, Duffy, Joan Osbourne, Amy Winehouse, and similar artists. Listening to that now.

So what's your opinion of Hey Ma? I've been enjoying it, but don't see it getting much buzz or airplay around here.

I've been listening to a lot of Bullet for my Valentine lately. They're pretty cool.

And what's cooler is they're from Wales. :D

I like! It's very....them! Don't listen to the radio at all though, so can't comment on airplay.

I can't imagine it'll be very popular in the US.....(lyrics-wise)

Never heard any of their stuff. May go over to Youtube and have a listen, if only cos their name sounds almost like 'My Bloody Valentine' (at least half of whom are from Ireland :D ). How come you're happy they're from Wales when you're in Texas????

ps I suggest you listen to MBV's 'Holocaust'...
uk.youtube.com/watch?v=RuJhTGq07nk
and yes, it is supposed to sound like that! But your pc probably can't make it as loud as it should be! which is a shame!

I'm from the UK (I moved to Texas 5 years ago), so anything from there has to be awesome. :P
You should check out this video - www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoT1oRnSK88

And thanks for the MBV links. I should get a chance to check them out later. :D

Matt Dusk - Two Shots

'Under pressure, but not bent out of shape...'

This song always makes me want to smoke and drink in a seedy basement bar. Quite an achievement since I don't smoke, and drink very little.

Online stream of this weeks Hearts of Space transmission, Absolute Zero
INTRO: In the brief days after the winter solstice, we pass the apogee of the yearly cycle of earth and sun, and plunge into the season of cold and dark. For our friends in Alaska and the Arctic north, the days become mere formalities. The distant sun struggles to reach the horizon, appears briefly, then retreats into darkness. Water hangs suspended in the blue-gray atmosphere, and we enter a world of deep, silent spaces, muted by fog and snow.

On this transmission of Hearts of Space, a journey to the quiet heart of winter called ABSOLUTE ZERO.

Continuing the Hearts of Space programing, with the first hour of the weekly two hour radio transmission on my local public radio station...
INTRO: The austere folk music of Norway and the Scandinavian countries has a paradox at its heart: in a land of frigid Arctic winters and stark, glacial landscapes, the music overflows with warmth and beauty. While the winter days are dark, the nights are illuminated with the intoxicating spectacle of the northern lights. On this transmission of Hearts of Space, a Nordic winter's journey called NIGHT LIGHT.
