Seriously, it sounds like a lot of people had a rough day. I wish I could give Seareach some advice....but I'm not a mum, so I'm really not in the running to.

Agata, wow you need a good day out with friends...oh wait...that's next weekend...remind me to give you a huge hug!

Danlo...Wow.....glad your safe and well....hope to see you next week, if not I will send you mental chickens....(PM for the explanation)

Sore. Very, very sore.

I played footy; won, got best on ground (:)), but got a knee to the thigh and now can hardly walk.

To top it off, I also bruised my rib. So it hurts to breathe. :(

Feel great. Went outside today, took a relaxing bath, fed the dog, vacuumed the downstairs/basement area, washed the dishes. Listening to some XTC and going to eat some dinner soon. Might cap it off with a movie tonight or a video game marathon or both.

EDIT: Watched "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly." Becoming more and more convinced that Angel Eyes is my favorite movie villain.

Wow! danlo, I'm glad to hear you all made it through that!!! Crap like that really tests the limits of ahimsa, eh? I hope at least the jerk's insurance is going to pay for it.

Alynna, I had to take my dog of 12 years to the emergency vet at 11pm a few weeks ago so they could put her to sleep. First time I ever had to do that. Just a bit devestating, eh? Her kidneys had been very bad for a few weeks, and it was only a matter of time. But that really doesn't make it easier, does it. Especially when she was suddenly doing so bad that late at night, and the actual decision was sort of spur-of-the-moment. Anyway, I'm right there with you. Misery loves company, and all that.

Excited. Ironically, today will basically be mother's day for me, as my mom gets back from Disney World. She hasn't seen me since May 14, when I left for Brit/Italy. We'll probably go eat somewhere or catch a movie or something. Whatever happens!

Sorry to hear about your pup, Fist. It's definitely tough, and I wasn't even the one who had to make the final call. My sympathies.

Hope you heal quickly, danlo! Like Loreli said, I'm definitely looking forward to a weekend with friends, and you'd better be there! :D

I've not had to euthanize a dog or cat in my life, Fist&F, and I dread it. So, so sorry.

I'm very glad you're alive and in one piece, danlo. 8O

I wonder if the other driver was on a cellphone at the time of the accident. Nowadays, one can't help thinking that. Car culture + cellphone culture = even more idiot drivers on the road.

Agreed MM. *sigh*

Yeah, sounds like rough one's all round really. Danlo, glad that you and the kids are alright...that's the important thing after all. Alynna and Fist, so sorry to hear about your dog days...that's a big part of the reason I don't have/want pets.

LoreMaster...keep at it man...you'll be back to your usual irascible self before you know it. ;)

SeaReach, well, I don't have kids, but it's not gonna stop me from saying that I think HLT is right. And it's important not to let him win. If he starts seeing that it works/gets him what he wants, it'll be harder than ever. Be firm in your resolve, even if it means he screams 'til he's sick of it.

Tired, lethargic, listless, dull. I have a doctor checkup in an hour, and they're taking blood, so I'm not allowed to drink anything but water until after the appt.....God I miss my caffeine.

I'm back from my checkup....it was a complete physical, and I'm over 40.

I feel so violated.

Ah, time for that good old digital/rectal exam. :( Wait until you are fifty and need the full baseline butt scoping. :(

We got back from our vacation last night, and we had a wonderful time. I am dreading going back in to work tonight... :(

I am sorry to hear that so many people had bad things happen to them while I was off the Watch. :(

I feel slightly out of shape. I usually never sweat after jogging two miles, but today I did. Maybe it's because it was 86F, but I think it's also because I only jogged three times in the last month while in Britain. Decided I didn't want to spend all my time exercising. On the bright side, jogging around Regent's Park in London lent some very nice scenery.
