mostly better. Still a bit weak, so a 10 hr work shift will be challenging.

So you gonna get to choose which unit you move to?

I'm fine myself mostly...still bored etc. but it's scarcely the worst possible fate. :)

Yeah, don't blame you. And the uncertainty is probably the worst part.

Me? Well as can be expected I guess...calmed down again a bit at work, (a bit anyway), waiting for the next shoe to drop. :D

Woke up to a PC that wouldn't boot up. Little bit of googling quickly identified the problem as my secondary HDD; wouldn't start with it connected, booted fine without it. Same issue if I moved it to different cables and ports. Isn't too big of a problem because most of my stuff is on the SSD, but the HDD contained all my documents/downloads/pictures/music folders, so I've lost access to a bunch of stuff.

I've already replaced the HDD with the other, smaller one that used to have my OS on it, and once I matched the drive letter to the old one Windows immediately recreated the missing folders, though empty obviously. This disk is older than the failed one, though, so who knows if it'll last.

Don't know what to do about getting my documents back. If the PC won't run with the disk plugged in, then I don't know how to recover it.

Try getting a SATA to USB adaptor (they come with an external power source) and see if you can plug it in as an external drive?

Looking into that, but all the shops are closed atm and delivery is weeks long.

That's a pain. I have one, but that's not gonna help you. :(

Oh, also, I feel pretty good...Both JemCheeta and Prebe making appearances is nice.

Also, it's Friday. And in 1 month I will go on leave until early Jan.

Had the meeting at work today. I am second in senority in my department and the sergeant ahead of me isn't staying at the trusty camp. So I chose to stay. The plan is to keep the camp open for a year to a year and a half. Then I get to find a different kitchen to work in again.

And even though I'm staying at my unit. Control of the camp will be given to the Clemens Unit. So i will officially be working my third unit.

They also gave me my 20 year plaque while I was there.

My doctor has me out til the 29th, so I'll miss Thanksgiving at the Unit.

A friend of ours just passed from a heart attack. He had Covid. He was a police officer my wife worked with.

He had not felt well in a bit. Was having trouble breathing.

If you don't feel well, get checked.

My family basically cancelled Thanksgiving because of the lock down, but it can't be helped. It's bad here and worse there. Turkey leftovers are not worth dying for.

But Pelosi had to be convinced to cancel her dinner plans for congress.

Oh, we all know the rules are only for us plebs sarge.

A UK government official last time ignored the stay-at-home order, and travelled 100 miles or something to visit mother, with his family, while displaying symptoms.

And here in SA a government Minister attended a dinner with friends at the height of the lock-down and posted pics on social media of it...

I'm pretty sure another spike is going to hit us before too long as well, fatigue has set in and a lot of people seem to be forgetting about the pandemic.

(Me? Oh, I'm fine. :D )

In America 🇺🇸 Covid only attacks conservatives. So our leaders would have us think.
