I feel so violated.
It usually goes better if you bring flowers.
10 days on the meds, 10 days with no alcohol. I've lost 6 pounds (impressive, since the steroids usually pack on weight), and the last of the fissures on my hands cleared up on Sunday. However.....I can't sleep worth a damn, I'm either exhausted or so jacked up I can't sit still, and the combination of the Cipro and the Prednisone has had an utterly horrendous affect on my bowels (dAN, your doctor should be happy it wasn't me that went in for a physical).
In short, I feel like crap. When I'm riding the high, I can do anything (biked nearly 30 miles this weekend), when I'm down I can barely keep my eyes open (yet I can't sleep).
The one positive thing (well, other than my hands are healing) is that this has absolutely answered any lingering questions I may have had about my drinking. Whatever problem(s) I may have had in the past, going two weeks without booze has been no big deal.
Now if I could just quit huffing Freon.....

Drag, Sgt. Housebuying is such an ordeal.
I feel guilty becase I'm procrastinating on an oil change. Who wants to sit in a sweltering garage on the hottest day of the year? Bleh.

Thanks to everyone that responded to my post the other day about Son of Seareach. I greatly appreciate your support. Made me feel a lot less alone.
Yesterday we actually had a wonderful day (makes so much difference when things go well). It's school holidays here so there's lots of kids down at the park. We went down there twice (the weather was lovely). Both times, Son of Seareach "adopted" a group of kids (older kids playing with balls as he's ball crazy). Both times, older kids were happy to humour him, and threw the ball to him, let him kick it, played chasey with him etc. There were hardly any "scraps" and Son of Seareach ran around madly looking like he was as happy as a pig in mud. It's probably the first day in ages where I've been able to watch him play happily rather than spending my whole time trying to stop him from being agressive. It was a "it's great to be a mum" day.
So, today I'm happy and hopeful!

cail: glad you are healing.
seareach: our grandson skipped the terrible twos. but on occassion acts as if he would like to visit them. hang in there. you sound like a wonderful mom and he will balance out.
jwaneeta: take in a movie with a friend while the car is in the shop. Julie and I saw Independence Day one year while the car was repaired.

Yeah: courage, Sgt. You know, it's too bad loans can't be done remotely, online, because my loan lady was great and I'd recommend here heartily if there was any practical way to do it. I bought in a historic neighborhood and there were some stupid hassles at the end, and she was very creative and efficient at making them go away.

Please be with me, or pray with me for tiny Alora Grace-out newest foster child and soon to be adopted babygirl. Cripes this is too much-avoided a potentially lethal t-bone accident with the boys on Friday-and now this little one has pinkeye, heat rash and possible sinus infection-in anycase I just put a thermometer up her butt which read 104-Tam is rushing her to the hospital right now...

They gave her motrin and antibiotics and the fever broke. Apparently it is not that unusual for a sick child to hit such temperatures-whereas for adults it can be life threatening. Man I tell you I've never felt a hotter human being in my life. The little angel is snoozing comfortably in her crib right now. Whew!

Yeah, I've seen 104 plenty....105 even, a few times. Of course, with five kids, you see pretty much everything. I'm amazed there's been no broken bones or even stiches yet for my kids.

Prayers for you and yours, Danlo.
When I had chickenpox at age 5 I ran a fever that touched 106 at one point. I couldn't stop tearing around the house. Didn't feel sick at all, just very very hot. On the other hand, the fever of 104 I ran with complications of flu at 26 put me in a delirium and permanently damaged my inner ears. Age makes all the difference.
