It's a very good idea. Extra XP for clear and quick-thinking in a serious crisis.
Andrea - that was a first rate post you have just added. Really very nice. You had a good way of turning nothing (happening with your PC) into an interesting event. Only one small issue which you may want to edit: A member of the service staff wouldn't have a naval rank title. The highest member of the staff is the Steward (no, Dorian, not the Steward), and beneath him are the various cooks, cleaners, janitors, waiters etc etc.
If you want to keep the post as is, we can just say that Samuels was an ensign before transferring to the service staff (for whateer reason), and habit has kept people referring to him as such.

If he was THE Steward, Garrius would have his heart out and served to the lower decks for dinner

Oh, my bad. I figured since he was on the bridge instead of in Garrius' rooms, he was a junior officer of some kind. I'll edit.

Now, here's the adventure idea: An agrarian colony is being run by the former governor's head agent. Two rival planetary governors would like to claim the colony for their systems. As neither wants war, neither presses their claim. Meanwhile, the Steward uses his immunity to carry out religious perversions, occult rituals, and vile dedications to Taal...umm, Slaanesh. Along comes a bounty hunter...

Who promptly falls for a girl, follows a retarded kid to a forest, follows another bounty hunter only to find his corpse that is disemboweled and has been pissed on. Then goes and finds some innocent girl who is hot as, and then foolishly hands her over to the slaneesh guy, who offers her up to some monster who rapes her, then chases said monster down, and kills him in a overly dramatic battle. However, instead of enjoying the victory he must discover that the pretty girl he kinda had a thing for died in the fight.
He then plonks the monsters head on the governors front step and leaves town fast.

Ahh, good times.
Except the 40k version would probably just have the Inquisition get wind of it all and just say 'damn the consequences to life on three planets, we can't have one little cult running things on Lecco II'.
Oh yeah, and there's some other GM who wants to randomly have some powerful Elven (Eldar) Sorceror (Farseer) arrive and obliterate the cult just to remind the PCs that elves (eldar) own shit.

I'm guessing this is code for "Check your PM".
Kind of an elegant solution, actually.

I'm away in the countryside at the moment, so there won't be any updates for a day or two. If anyone is going to have their character get some rest or try something new, could they please let me know before then (if they haven't already). This can be an IC post (preferable), or a PM. I'll do an update a while after I am back.

I'm updating the game thread as I can this week. I'm a bit low on time because I have to pack for a big move. People should feel free to post without me - Drak and Andrea easily could. Otherwise I'll assume that people are repeating the same kinds of actions they did in their last posts. No pressure to post if you don't feel you want to change tact.

+10 geek points for using a zero-based numbering scheme.

Just right click on the image Andrea used and click copy image URL (or similar, depending on what browser you use, though if you aren't using Chrome by now you should be shot for the level of cruelty you are inflicting on yourself with inferior browsers)
