I'll say it again, I think Saul Tigh is the best, most complex character on the show.
The most frustrating too.

That was a seriously messed up episode!
Yeah, Saul is something else! And he fights a lot better than I assumed he could!
I guess Adama now knows what happened on New Caprica.

Yeah, especially considering he was blind drunk in the prior scene.
I'll admit, I'm surprised that there hasn't been more of a......reckoning about what happened on New Caprica.

Lots of good ones. "33" blew me away - it deserved the Hugo award it won. But Exodus (part 2), which is I think the fourth episode in the third season, just blows everything else away. One jaw-dropping moment after another.
I also liked "Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down." It was so funny that I almost thought they changed the show format to a sitcom. I could almost see John Ritter and the other Threes Company cast playing some of those parts. LOL!
The new one - Hero - was good. But I can't say that I understood most of it (the parts with Lucy Lawless' character). I'm sure it will clear up later, but it I even liked watching those parts - interesting events, thought provoking, etc.
But two weeks until the next one! And we're almost halfway through season three already (this past one was #308). I'm already dreading the wait between seasons three and four.
I really hope they're able to take the show mainstream. I think it's the best thing on TV - and ranks among the best things ever on TV. Hopefully the general public will be able to get around any issues they have with sci fi series so they can get to the story and the drama. It should be easier with this one than with others since the human race part of it is set so closely to "reality." No shiney clothes with big triangles, no strange blaster weapons or medical miracles. No "beaming" (other than the Cylons resurrecting). No strange vocabulary or names. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them!

It appears you need to dread the mid season break, long before you need to dread the wait between seasons. It seems a couple weeks into December is the mid season finale.

Rumor has it that the ratings have been sliding all season even though the show is still critically acclaimed. I hope it's not cancelled, but without SG-1 as a lead-in, I'm concerned.

I've heard this but the proof I saw a couple of weeks ago didn't support the contention. Do you have S2 to S3 comparisons to prove the ratings are dropping?

They've got the ratings, and they're dropping.
It turns out that the show is also moving to Sundays at 10PM in January.

Eh, alot has happened since the first four episodes, and of course ratings almost always drop after a season premiere. I would like to see side by side ratings S2 compared to S3 to date, and see if there are any noticeable differences.
Moving to Sunday in January? Ooh, didn't know that. When I saw it dropping off the Friday schedule in Mid December and Dr. Who doubling up the week before the end of the month, I thought that was an indication of the mid season break. You know if the Sundays in January episodes are still new ones?

Hmm... does the Hybrid control the Centurions? They can function when there isn't a baseship around. My impression was that the Hybrids only controlled the baseships, but that could be incorrect. Hopefully we will learn more about both.

I guess it might work either way. The centurions might *need* a hybrid within some distance to operate correctly - unless they're pre-programmed to perform a specific task (like when they invaded Galactica). Or perhaps they're simply connected to the hybrid for communications purposes, and when she got sick she accidentally sent out a signal that shut them down. I think what happened is that the centurions *needed* to be inoperable for those two episodes to work, so they came up with the general explanation of the hybrid shutting them down. But they might not have worked out the details themselves yet as to how that really worked.
That way they can fill in that gap with different details if needed in the future.

LM, there are plenty more great episodes for you to look forward to. If anything it just gets better, although I've only seen up to the twelfth episode of season 2 myself.
I've really gotta get the DVD's. I'm not sure if season 2 is available here yet. Since channel 10 has axed it I sure hope it is.
