What ever happened to Carpenter? It seems after Mouth of Madness his films went downhill fast.

Last night watched Hostel. Nowhere near as gruesome as the adverts and publicity make it seem, but actually an alright film.
Oh, and a couple of weeks ago I watched The Matador. I honestly don't think I'd thought of Pierce Brosnan as much of an actor before - he always seemed to play the same part. This one was quite different. Enjoyed it.

This is the second remake of that movie. I'm just going to assume on principle that it'll be better than the first remake. Kurt Russell and Richard Dreyfuss ought to be interesting...

no remake of Mockingbird.

watched the new King Kong. excellent movie. nice build up, effective for mood. then the island was slam bang, non stop adventure. the dinos, the bugs, Kong vs T-Rex. great stuff. the NYC stuff was fantastic. great movie!

Calibaby and I watched the extended edition of Dune last night (the extended theatrical movie rather than the miniseries). We both wish they has left the deleted scenes in - he has not read the novel, and he said the deleted scenes really helped him understand more of what was going on.

Finished watching Firefly yesterday. I ordered Serenity a couple of hours later.

I still have Requiem For A Dream to watch, but I understand it's quite... heavy going. And I've been feeling too tired for anything too serious this weekend.
