Waddley wrote:I feel like getting a tattoo... a big one, probably on my thigh. Maybe taking up about 40% of it, with the potential of one day maybe wrapping around my leg... something bright and cheerful, like scene with a little girl holding a skunk on her lap. Or walking some skunks on a leash. Or holding a skunk near her face and cuddling with it.

I don't really care about the specifics, it just has to have:
bright colors
semi-cartoonish feel
a little girl
at least one skunk
a purple sky
I just want to state that I like skunks. I find them cute although I've certainly been flash the opossum look by them now and again. For those who have been surprised by oppossums in the night, you'll know what I mean. Or skunks for that manner, at least the ones who don't feel threatened enough to spray you. They remind me of grumpy old men with bad hips.

This is kinda the look I'm going for:

Not necessarily precisely that, but that's kinda the feel I want.

Black line-work only for me. Tribal/stylised sorta designs. Don't like "pictures." Mel has a couple amazing ones though...I should ask her for a pic.

yeah, I tend to go for black and white only, as well....I've only got one, but it's a triple goddess symbol on the back of my neck, in black and gray. Been thinking about getting a couple small elder futhark runes in black....Ur (for strength) on my weak ankle, among others...

Also want to get a tree of life design eventually. (that one'll probably be in color...)

You should post a picture of that one, Syl posted his. My dad has a really great b&w portrait of Greta Garbo, if I can find a pic of it, I'll put it up in the photography thread.

He's a little grumpy bear and I get the honor of being one of the few people he lets pet him. One of the times I was babysitting him I left to go boogie boarding and forgot to shut the bedroom door and he managed to find his way into the bag of unsalted peanuts in the shell that we kept for the birds and so when I got home there was a huge pile of peanut shells and I found him asleep on his back with his big distended belly sticking up in the air. Also, if he doesn't want to go back into the room and you go to pick him up he will literally get as low to the ground as possible and stick his legs out as far as he can and cling to the carpet as hard as he can. Picture me and one fat skunk all spread eagled on the carpet as I try to pry up his little legs or get my hands under him.... seriously, it was like watching a ridiculous scene in a really stupidly funny movie. And just for the cuteness factor, the moment I knew that Lerm actually liked me and not just tolerated me was when he came out and trundled around and then instead of going back under my bed to sleep he plopped himself down on my feet under the table for his nap. :D

<yawn> It's 9.30am and I'm still here in my pj's!

I've had a brilliant couple of days! I'm excited about my US trip (it's finally starting to feel real!), and...well...I'm just all happy! HOORAH for me!

My partner got another speeding ticket (one more and he'll lose his license...which becomes a little problematic since he drives 4 hours round trip most days to get to work, and being an archaeologist he needs to drive to get to field work! :P).

But heh. <singing> Ain't nothing going to break my stride....

well, if I remember correctly it was originally Men at Work but I think it's been covered by a few different bands/people after that.

Edit: ok, this is the version I know which is matthew wilder.

hehehehehe...man...I gotta learn to dance like those chicks!

All together now:

No body's gonna slow me down
Oh no (oh no)...
I got to keep on moving...."

I spent more on my car today than I did to get the plane tickets to SF. A full set of tires and changing different fluids for the car.

My work load at the moment is immense. Just got given another huge report to do. I'm utterly exhausted.

I feel like crap. The Easter Bunny brought me the flu for Easter, and my throat is so sore that my ears hurt. What's more I got a fever, for which the only cure is more cowbell.

Aww man I just my cowbell away for the summer too....

So a week from today I fly to NOLA for a conference. This marks a couple of firsts for me:

The first time in NOLA.
The first time at a professional conference.
The first time traveling solo for any length of time.

I alternate between giddiness and anxiety.

If it's still there, try to get brunch at The Court of Three Sisters off Bourbon Street. best food I've ever eaten.

You are the third person to recommend this place, I definately will see what I can do. Yes it is still there, one of my compatriots at the office went to a different conference in NOLA last week though her schedule did not permit her to get in.
