I feel reflective. I have some things on my mind and some big decisions on my plate. However, I don't think I'm going to make a lot of progress with that today.
My plans for this afternoon are to make myself something scrumptious for lunch, pack a few boxes, doze on the couch for a while, and then go get my hair done. I have a friend who is a stylist in a high-end salon, and he owes me a free cut and color (I love barter, don't you?). The only scary thing is that he has very definite ideas about what he wants to do, and it's not likely I will be able to change his mind. I hope he's realized by now that I'm not a high maintenance kind of girl, and I will not curl my hair EVERY morning.
Then tonight it's hanging out with my friends, perhaps going to dinner.
Happy Friday all, and good luck to Lorelei on her upcoming adventure!

Fun fun fun! I plan on working on my closet.
Oh and Lyr....don't underestimate what a great cut and color can do for a hair styling routine. I changed my hairstyle after many years near Christmas time this year and I find myself getting up early and doing more often than I ever thought I would.

Thanks, Lyr! I checked another link from that page, too, and now I've got several techniques to try. I'd thought about trying a blow dryer but I don't have an extension cord long enough to reach from my 3rd floor apartment to the parking lot...

Hot water, tho, I could manage.
ummm....mum, we have that car converter that plugs into the car lighter....you could turn the car on, plug in the converter, and plug the extension cord/hair dryer into the converter.....
Yeah. The car lighter doesn't work any more. I tried to charge my phone with it yesterday. (The cell phone is another saga that y'all don't want me to get started on.)
Car problems suck. I once realized that there were three areas in my life that were generating all of my unanticipated, big-money expenses: the car, the cats, and the computer. (Well, and the kids, but you can't really give them away.

)
Lorelei: Have a fabulous time in NOLA! For the anxiety, just do what I do when I fly: Take a couple of Dramamine before takeoff and sleep through the flight.

I'm chipper today. The car problems didn't get me down, and the $400 to fix it is a lot better than the $1000+ I expected, and it is already done. The tow was paid for, thanks to me paying a lot for insurance. And I have a ride from work to pick up my car at 2pm. So hurray. Now I just need to reschedule my lawyer visit, and wait an extra month to visit the dentist, and enjoy my weekend of Rock Bandedness.

oh, well never mind then. It was a good idea until then though....

I'd like to know why the hell it is snowing, please.
Who do I write a letter to?
(I feel confused.)

Feeling a little better today, after having a headache for the majority of the past two days, I finally got some serious sleep last night. I fell asleep around 7pm and didn't get up until 8:30 this morning. I haven't slept that long since I had a baby. My foot is healing well, and I have no real complaints looking forward to a quiet weekend.

I feel SO guilty. On Wednesday, my sci-fi class had a phone interview with Brandon Sanderson, the guy who's going to write the last Wheel of Time novel. I couldn't think of any question--and what's worse I didn't ask you guys if you had any questions.
But really. He is a kick-ass writer. His debut, Elantris, blew me away. George R.R. Martin, you better watch out.

It's good to hear your endorsement, Lord Foul. I was wondering how good of a writer he was.

thanks for the chance to vent. life will correct itself.
