The death of Foamfollower was upsetting to me as well,
but not as much as when the the Giants were found slaughtered in Seareach.
Another moment that actually got a strong reaction was one simple word spoken... "Nom"
I stood up from my chair and was on the verge of gasping in surprise and cheering aloud.

Anyway, have fun here and enjoy the company.
And don't be shy.
You'll probably end up liking us crazies sooner or later...
Greetings...

My god, the first time I came to that part, I actually had to stop, put the book down, and take a moment.

My life was in a very interesting (in the chinese sense) time, and just having that happen totally shocked me. While I can't quite remember what was going on in my real life, I do remember the feeling that I got (and still have reverbrations of it when I think of it or go through a reread); I do remember that I managed to "become the sandgorgon" and power through the issues in my life.

One word... one tiny word... so much power.

Until that time...

To answer your question, I've read the Gap series at least three times. To me it's as good (and just maybe better) than Covenant. The particular book you referenced is actually (sub)named with the greatest title of all time, "A Dark and Hungry God Arises" and in this circle is often referred to as "Dark and Hung."

I'll see your blasphemy and raise. I don't like Tolkein.

I've read two of the mystery books. I like 'em, but I don't put them up on the alter.

Never read the Mordant's need stuff, but want to. Just haven't put the significant effort into finding the first book (read: It's not in Amazon or the local library.)

Greetings...

Stutt - does your library do Interlibrary Loans? If so, you might consider having them order Mordant's Need. Every so often I think about the books and end up going through the library to get them.

Most of the time ILL is the way I have to go, to.

Waiting for the moment that I can find the books for sale and have the money to purchase them. Always one or the other, but not both.

Until that time...

Good advice Ouronos. No I haven't tried it. It's on the list of things that I should do but haven't ginned up the motivation for yet.

When I first joined KW (my very first forum ) there was a link for all the unanswered posts. Being a n00b beyond all n00bs, I thought the unanswered posts were a bad thing, so I proceeded to spend the next couple hours replying to every unanswered post "heh". Post after post after post after post, just "heh", just so there wouldn't be anymore unanswered posts. The Watch was in an uproar!

heh.
Esmer, I never knew that story! That must be why everyone loves you so much--you made an impression! :D

And welcome, the Humbled. There are a lot of good folk here at the Watch. And then there's Vain. . . ;)
