Version 9 is a vast improvement once you're used to it; I'd also recommend 9 Security Edition if you're not already using it. There's an optional personal firewall that costs a little extra, but is worth every penny.

It is the 9.0 extra security edition from Dell, whatever that means. The thing is, I already had pop up blocker and a virus program and a spam stopper and all of the rest of that security stuff. And all of that is still loading up as soon as I sign on. :?

Ah well, my computer is now protected by so many redundant programs it's probably as safe as a home computer can be - and probably safer than the work computers, since I do work for the government.

oooooh...do tell!!! :D

Meh, my throat is starting to feel a bit scratchy...day-uhm. All this unusually cold weather is starting to take its toll. We have the driest, coldest winter on record here in West Oz. Farmers are in profound manure. Not a good sitch for this summer's water future. Now if they will only start charging BY USAGE instead of by your property's rental value (I have a garden the size of a frakking postage stamp & I conserve water, yet I pay as much in water rates as a house on a quarter-acre block with massive gardens front & back!!!) Stupid frakking town councils!

They don't charge by usage? That's stupid.

Anyway, I'm just getting over my flu, and it looks like I'll have a job for at least another 2 months, so things are looking up I suppose.

Could always be worse. ;)

I'm back. :P

What, no one cared?

What, I forgot to tell everyone that I was leaving?

Well, too bad. :P

(Oh, and I'm leaving again tomorrow. :P )

Also, I think I forgot to post this before I left, but I'm somewhat content, since I turned in the final copy of my thesis to my committee last Friday. I defend in two weeks.

I'm a little strung out -- I got the book in and mowed my lawn just before the badass storm hit. Dumb storm kilt my electricity. It's on again, obviously, but I'm so ready for my wee vacation.

*quivers*

thanks all for the well wishes.

the computer fixed itself it seems. no more drop offs. no slowness. i have no idea what happened.

julie is off fishing today. i will watch movies and do some writing. (i am behind) and sketch out a concept for an art show in Houston. if we get it finished it may be shown with other local artists. it would be a first for me!

yay Sarge! Have you got any artwork we can view? I love to see other people's artistic abilities!

Thanks Luci - I think I've managed to head it off at the pass - been dosing myself on vitamins & such...

Good news on the job front, Av!

Neets, hope things are 'unstringing' for ya (go check out the hot Sawyer pics I put into the 'blahblahSawyer' topic, that'll cheer you up!) ;)

Good luck with the thesis defence, Jay!

Hmm...a bit mixed.

We won footy - 4.5 (29) to 2.5 (17). I kicked a 1.3. Disgraceful. I didn't get in the best, but we won.

Unfortunately, we lost our top spot on percentage.

But, we have an easier game next week, so hopefully we can get it back. :)
