I will as soon as they reissue the trade (apparently it's going back into print sometime soon). And I'll probably pick up her new Secret Six run in trade, too.

A surprising amount of Simone's DC and Marvel work seems to be out of print or just hard to find.

different priorities at DC nowadays. quality writing isn't viewed as highly anymore.

I picked up 1-12 of Shade the Changing Man; the Vertigo series; and I'm extremely happy I did; I'll be picking up as many of 13-70 as the store has during the $0.50 sale next month. I did get three of the original Ditko series; I might get the other five, just to see how much Milligan changed the character I'm assuming he changed it a lot).

I need to see if there are any Sandman, too; so far, I've only seen the original Kirby issue.

.nice haul. Your store had a sale?

Yeah, all old comics under $10 are $1; and for subscribers, $0.50. $10 and up are half price, and new comics are 20% off. That being said, I had to get the ASM and a few Shade via Ebay. Basically, I gave half of my Christmas bonus to my kids, and the other half I spent at the comic store.

Yeah, I love it. Whether it was Claremont/Byrne, Duffy/Gammill, or Owsley (Priest)/Bright, there was great stuff.

Useless trivia: Nicholas Cage chose the last name "Cage" because he liked Power Man and didn't want to use his family surname Coppola (he is related to Francis Ford Coppola).

more useless trivia: Nicholas Cage has a Ghost Rider tattoo which had to be covered up when filming the Ghost Rider movie.

On a completely unrelated note, I find your use of the adjective "solid" to be apropos, given that "solid" was a widely-used adjective from the 70s (as you well recall), the decade which gave us both characters. Right on!

Right? Link on The Mod Squad always said "Solid."
