It is
way beyond me why asterisks were ever invented in the first place...Menolly's "condition" is, probably, Jay's fault for displaying them so prominently in the forum descriptions. I guess it's simply a medical affliction experienced only by those who glance at the index 99 times a day.
Wow! What fun! What a great time! Thanks Carla and Cag, what wonderful hosts! Cag is a total nut and Carla looks very unassuming but is an extremely subtle and dangerous wit. I'd like to think that my 7 year Watch-mate and I got along famously, however, it was quite painful to watch CovJr wince every time I tried to do an English accent. My other 7 year Watch-mate, aliantha, and I have been at so many fests together I forgot she was there. NO! I'm just kidding! You know how much I love you and your beautiful, trouble making, contarian, etc...daughter, MagicMarker.
And then there's Thelma and Louise...Ouch! My liver and lungs are still hurting from trying to keep up with Sea. I was the only one brave enough to challenge her to a drinking contest, but thank gods, somewhat, saner conditions prevailed or I would have been in a local hospital for a week. She's a true gem and anyone who has encountered, or encounters her during this trip is truly blessed. Luci know's she my BBF despite always being ten steps ahead of me while bouncing off the walls simultaneously.

Finally, words cannot describe what Jenn means to me (and my wife) she's always got my back and I really don't think enough Watchers know how incredibly lucky we are to have her. Oh! And Menolly was there too!
I'd post my "Many things I've never done before in my life before Seafest" list, but I've gone on long enough so I'll wait for the next post.

Your attempts at an English accent were better than my attempts to mimic dlb. I can't do Tennessee, as Jenn mercilessly observed.
Still, I had some small accent triumphs. I taught MagickMaker to say 'wum'.

you did indeed teach me to say 'wum'. If we'd spent any more time together, I'd have had to explain to my boss why I was talking with a British accent...although it probably would have been part Australian too...

I'm not even going to attempt the British accent. Instead I have been amusing Cov with my silly mexican accent.

I've also been saying dozy bint in my best Tennessee imitation.

21 years of combined Watch experience, between ali, Cjr and I at one fest-a new, and very impressive, record!!!!
OK, on to it:
"Many things I've never done before in my life before Seafest"
-I've have never, not ever, even dreamed that I would listen to so much (smooth) Michael McDonald
-I have never sung a Michael McDonald song with another person
-My fellow festers promised to keep this secret but I actually sang Karaoke-doing the male part of the duet (my gorgeous "second-wife" Jenn accompanying)
Don't You Want Me Baby
-Went to Red Rocks
-ate seafood for breakfast
-drank Demented Chicken (OK Distilled Chicken, but it did do something demented to my lips, stomach and liver) which tasted like a combo of Jack Daniels and pot-stickers.
-visited my aunt-in-law (Tam and my surrogate mom) in Colorado Springs
-ate Vegimite which instantly reminded me of surfing and consuming boatloads of sea water.
-swam in a Motel 6 pool (diseases soon to follow)
-overflowed a toilet in Santa Fe
-played Two to Go (or whatever it's called) speed Scrabble
I'm sure I'll think of more
(Oh and holding up a "Cowboy" chocolate bar. Not only was the chocolate absolutely disgusting it melted all over the cellphone

)

Where? Where?
And CovJr, your post came a little too late. That extra cantaloup was being pawed at, so I sliced it up and gave some to it. I ended up in a Vegas motel in a bathtub with some stitches around where my kidney is supposed to be, and a strong urge to eat paste. I've never eaten paste, even when I was young.

"Many things I've never done before in my life before Seafest"
- Met that particular neighbor who joined the gathering briefly
- Met such a sour Englishman
- Been to that entrance of Red Rocks
- Met any members of the Watch
- Met any Donaldson fans in Denver that I didn't already know
- Heard the term "goblin" used in such a way that caused me to laugh about it for several days.
- Drank Seafoam
Sadly, I can't put on this list "created head wound trying to break up bag of ice with my head."

I loved you asking if the meat was marinated in chipotle at Chipotle. I truly have never had chipotle, so I had no idea. Whatever it was marinated in, it was
good...
...first time trying Chipotle for me too...
hmm...speaking of which, it's lunch time and Chipotle is right down the street...
ali! magick! I think you started me on a new addiction...
Lasting after effects of SeaFest Denver
Eating at Chipotle every few days...
...drinking Carla's "special" iced tea

I don't think we explained the "second wife" thing anywhere.
I had made the reservations for the motel so they wouldn't let Danlo check in without my credit card. Therefore CovJr, Danlo and I checked in after Danlo picked us up from the airport. The guy behind the counter was a little confused because some woman was paying for rooms for TWO guys so when I said, "Yes, please put his room on my credit card too." I followed it up with, "My SECOND husband." Needless to say the guy gave me a really weird look and scurried away very quickly.

That's not any worse than Seareach being in 4 different guys' bedrooms during the SF weekend....

Man! He can't even get the name of the game right, *and* he beat the hell out of us at it, too, the annoying git!
Hey, this is a pretty good idea, danlo!
Things I did at Seafest that I've never done before:
* Camped in Colorado for more than one night
* Seen hot air balloons take off, in person (pictures to follow)
* Sang karaoke
* Had any stranger, *ever*, stop me on the street because they knew what "100% Unbeliever" meant
* Swam in a Motel 6 pool (hmm, maybe *that's* where I got the rash...)
* Drank distilled chicken (it's the gift that keeps on giving!) and Seafoam
* Eaten a Texas-style kolache (
www.kolachefactory.com -- there's one near Cag's house and mmmm baby, I could go for another of those poppyseed ones right about now)
* Gone in that entrance to Red Rocks (I think that path was about a 7% grade...)
* Been quite so sad to leave Denver. And that, for me, is saying something!
Oh yeah: a chipotle is a kind of pepper (like a jalapeno or whatever). So maybe they cook the meat with chipotle peppers. Or maybe they just thought it was a cool thing to name a restaurant.
