Self-control from someone named "Fisty" is doubly appreciated.

Ahhh- I just got back from seeing "Riverdance." It is a celebration of Celtic music, lore and dance, and Paganism at its finest. I am sure a lot of people didn't realize the origins of the music and the dances, but it was an earth centered celebration. I highly recommend it to anyone who gets the chance to see it. What a great night. BB, all.

Now for some friendly Pagan humor.....

SummerLands

A Pagan died and, much to her surprise, found herself at the Pearly Gates facing St. Peter. He walked up to her and said, "Hello, and welcome."

She stared at St. Peter in complete confusion. "Wait a minute," she said. "I was supposed to end up in the Summerlands."

He smiled. "Ah, you must be one of our Pagan sisters. Follow me, please."

Peter gestured for her to follow him down a small path which went through the gates and down a bit to the left.

They walked for a short while, then he stepped back and gestured her forward.

Looking past his hand, she saw the verdant fields and forests of her desired Summerlands.

She saw people feasting, dancing, and making merry, exactly as she expected.

While shaking her head in wonder, the Pagan happened to glance over to one side and saw a small group of people a short way away from the edge of the Summerlands. The people in the group were watching the revelers, but not joining them. Instead, they were screaming and weeping piteously.

The Pagan looked at St. Peter. "Who are those people?"

St. Peter replied, "Them? They're fundamentalists . . . Christians to be exact. They're a bit surprised to see you all there, so they stand there and carry on like that all day."

"Why? Don't they have better things to do?"

Peter leaned conspiratorially toward her. "They don't really have a choice. They're actually in Hell. God doesn't like being told what She thinks."

Kym, I *love* this joke! Dare I send it to my relatives who send me endless "a prayer of love and friendship for you -- forward this back to me or God will break your kneecaps" e-mails?

I don't come in here very often (like, never) so this is the first time I've seen this thread, and it's been a lot of fun to read. I think of myself as a Wiccan-leaning pagan, but I'm not really practicing it right now. I kind of quit doing rituals when my kids got old enough (and I got too old!) so that I couldn't stay up later than them anymore.... :( In another couple of years, they'll both be off to college and I'll have the house to myself. *Then* the only issue will be whether one of the cats breaks the magic circle! (I decided long ago that cats don't count, since they act like they live between the worlds anyhow....)

Oddly (or perhaps not!), my younger daughter became very interested in Wicca a couple of years ago. She's way more open about it than I would've been at her age. It's very cool to see!

Blessed be, y'all!

Aliantha- That's fabulous- always glad to see one more in our little group!

I'm glad to hear about your daughter. It took me a long time to become open about this, but I do think that there are a lot of members of the current teenage generation who are Wiccan/Pagan, and it doesn't seem as wierd to their peers as it would have to ours when we were younger!

Actually- you are right! Animals can move freely in and out of a magick circle without disturbing it. It is thought that they are so in tune with natural forces that their presence doesn't break the circle.

Bright Blessings to you and hope yo see you here more.
