Ach, don't remind me about those little creeps. I've got to get some murloc eyes in Westfall.

Hey, same here. Can't find a single Murloc in the area, though. (I have the rest of the ingredients.)

hey, sorry I was MIA last week...I am planning to eventually make a character on the same server as you guys...I'll let you know when I do...I don't know if I'm gonna have much time for playing this week, we'll see what happens.

What should I make? I saw someone said that we needed more pallys, so we could rez people when they died....is this still the case? Also, what race is good? I've only played a Nelf and a Draenai...

You'll have absolutely no difficulty in generating money for mounts etc that way and you can always drop one for a relevant crafting skill later on.
thats a great idea. i've already got alchemy on my first character tho and i don't think i want to ditch it at this point, but i did make a rogue alt character and i think i'll make both HER professions gathering.
i just soooo do not like skinning animules but...i reckon i'll do it.
Nothin sucks more than having your node ninjaed by someone who's gonna sell it on the AH. Dual gathering is economical but boring IMO. All I ever make are engineers anymore :) (It's the fun and goofy prof)

The murlocs in Westfall are down on the beach on the western edge of the zone. There are some frustrating quests in Westfall, like the Goretusk liver pie one where only 1 in 8 goretusks actually has a liver. It's also the first place you really start to die. Check out the top 10 deadliest mobs from before the expansion:

1. Vaelastrasz the Corrupt
2. Defias Pillager
3. Stormpike Bowman
4. Korrak the Bloodrager
5. Ancient Core Hound
6. Gadgetzan Bruiser
7. Defias Trapper
8. Cat*
9. Stormpike Guardsman
10. Blackwing Legionnaire

* 'Cat' refers to tamed hunter pets that have not been renamed

Most of them are from high end raiding dungeons and battlegrounds, but the two Defias ones are both in Westfall. They're probably the first mobs that can really hurt you and it's also quite easy to pull two or three at once if you aren't very careful.

Yep. Died three times against those Defias yesterday. They kept Disarming me, and most of my fighting depends on dealing damage to them slightly faster than they do to me (especially since I ran out of health potions). I was three levels higher than them!
In the end I had to give up (I was trying to get into a farmhouse for a Stormwind quest, "Humble Beginnings"; also had a "kill 15 Trappers/15 Pillagers" quest).

Lol, fun list. Certainly died PLENTY to most of these things. (Vealstraz... UHG!) Seeing the bruisers up there reminds me of the good' ol days of roof camping in gadge.

Question: Have the US servers applied the new patch? I can't log in (and I suspect if so I won't be able to until tomorrow, when the EU servers are upgraded to 2.4.0).

U.S. servers are down every Tuesday morning here for maintenance. They'll be back on in about 4 hours, I believe.

It's as I suspected: Realm's back up, I can't log on. Guess I have to wait for the patch to go live in the EU tomorrow morning.

I just went to log in, and got asked to download a patch, so perhaps it'll work for you now...

Tried again--nope. I'm on the EU client, so it uses EU servers for patching--it pre-downloaded the patch last week, but the EU servers don't have the update scheduled until tomorrow.

I'm sorry to hear that. Could you uninstall the patch, so you could play today? Or are you just going to wait until tomorrow?

Yeah, my friend outside the watch told me they put in the patch this morning. About 260 MB.

I bought a two button mouse yesterday in order hopefully click on to things a little quicker - I play on a MacBook so I was stuck with their one click mouse. Some of the things run as I hear they're supposed, but the game doesn't seem to recognize right clicks. I've looked through the game's Mac option settings but couldn't find how to change certain settings to mouse clicks. I'll probably have to call their help line tonight.

Just checking: this is the 2.4.0 patch, right? (That's the one they're putting up tomorrow morning on the UK servers.)
