I forgot you were a horslips fan, Danlo! :D

Today, I've been cooking an absolutely delicious meal and rocking out in the kitchen to....

The Decemberists

and
Mumford & Sons

and
Seasick Steve
(give that one until at least the 2 minute mark, or if you're really impatient, skip to 7 minutes!)

I LOVE finding new music! :D I'm hoping and praying these 3 will be at Glastonbury this year....

This weekend it's been Husky Rescue's new album 'Ship of Light' in anticipation of gig on Wednesday. Not as good as a whole as their last one 'Ghost is Not Real' but it has some great tracks....

It's back to the roots so I listened a lot to Bad Brains and Minor Threat lately.

Got tired of waiting for Lisa Mitchell's Wonder to be released in US markets, and found the songs on Youtube. Current favorite on repeat. "So Jealous"

Anyone remember Birdland? I used to aspire to the singer's hairstyle!

And the opposite of Birdland, Priscilla Ahn. Lovely stuff.

Amazing the differences in what one pictures at the word Birdland.

This is what Birdland means to me.

...damn, the combination is just awesome...

And the original album version of Birdland by MT, which starts at 3:56 after Twilight Zone.

This version of Birdland is the one I'm most familiar with. Lately I've been revisiting Pat Metheny's Bright Size Life, various Jeff Beck cds, and the few Stanley Clarke/Return To Forever cds I have.

Loving The Decemberists' The Crane Wife Pt 3 (thanks again Kaydene :D ) . The rest of the album is proving harder to get into, but this song, WOW!

(edit and SO easy to play on guitar  )

Been playing oldschool Bowie and Zeppelin - as well as new stuff by QOTSA and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs on my record player.

Yay! I'm glad you're getting into them. The Crane Wife was a harder album for me to get into (with the exception of that song and one that they cut out called The Culling of the Fold). I really love Her Majesty and Picaresque (and, of course, The Hazards of Love). :)

Just a tip for those of you who love the Decemberists, here's a site that has some free audio concerts of theirs. Plus there are a ton of other artists there as well, which apparently all have approved this distribution of live shows. Totally legal and free. I found it by searching for Bob Walkenhorst, so if you want a sample of one of my favorite artists in the world, download one of his shows and check him out.
