In related news, anyone who parks their mammoth on top of a questgiver should be forcibly catapulted into the stratosphere.

So I thought I settled all the confusion last year, but apparently people on the Alliance side still think my Horde main's name is my real name.
Oops.
The worst part is, I hate it when people use my real name online, especially with concern that it might end up on Facebook or whatnot. I'd rather people called me by my Horde name (or Sorus) but I won't pretend it's my real name.

...
You have a HORDE name!!

Most of my Horde characters start with Hel-, so that's what most people call me and what Impy continued to call me after she recruited me to the Alliance guild on Garona even though my Alliance characters all follow the unpronounceable-beginning-with-I theme. Though I am considering changing Ivymaru's name to Sorus. I originally wanted another I-name, and I thought a portmanteau of Inviere and Ilatmaru would be recognized as belonging to me, and Ivy sounded Druid-y and generally better than Invimaru, but now I'm having second thoughts. And most people are used to me being called Sorus, especially on the Alliance side, since it's my Battletag and my Facebook (shudder) name as well as what Irv usually calls me.
Of course I probably won't bother changing it - it's not the first time I've stuck with a name I initially regretted - actually, both Ilatmaru and Inviere make that list.

I almost broke down and renamed (and race changed!) Ivy on Friday night, being tired past the point of sense and deciding I had the perfect new name for her that would only work if she was a Worgen.
Fortunately I didn't go through with it. I'm guessing the next expansion will be available for preorder soon after Blizzcon (which is next week) - and since it will include a level-100 boost, I should save my idea for that character. I was originally going to boost Ivy, but she's 72 already. Leveling goes so fast these days.
Edit:
Two weeks until Blizzcon. I keep getting ahead of myself in my eagerness for this year to be over.

Gotta love CRZ. I've been flying around Sholazar Basin, herbing for exp - there's surprisingly little competition, probably due to the low value of old mats these days. There are, however, 2-3 hunters camped in
each of Loque'nahak's spawn points.

Damn Hunters!!
Just for grins an giggles - I know, another alt is the last thing I need - I made a white haired, white skinned Night Elf Warrior named Silchasruin
and pumped all the plate heirlooms up to level 100
Probably should have been a Death Knight (my Draenei Anomandaris is a DK

) But I find Warriors easier to play than mastering the damnable runes!

Don't get me wrong - Loque is my favorite hunter pet and it's no surprise that she's still popular - but she's been available for seven years, and there are more hunters camping her spawn sites now than when Wrath was current content. Beast mastery isn't even the fashionable spec for hunters these days.
Grats on your new alt. I like the name.

I'm going to see if it's possible to leave a garrison's Halloween decorations up year-round. Yes, I'm going to be that neighbor. No, not in real life.

So who else pre-ordered?
I've got that level 100 boost burning a hole in my pocket, and I can't decide what to do even though I knew this was coming.
I want a druid on the Alliance side, but the one I started is 75 and it seems silly to use it on her. On the other hand, it seems silly to use it on a brand-new druid when I've invested the time in getting the first one 3/4 of the way there.
There aren't really any classes that I don't have that I actually want. Hunter is the only straight dps class I enjoy playing, and the only healers I don't have are paladin (which I have failed miserably at in the past) and monk (which is a complete mystery to me).
I suspect demon hunters will be DK 2.0 for me - I'll make one and lose interest as soon as I exit the starting zone.
I could make a shaman on the Alliance side, but I haven't enjoyed playing my shaman post-Highmaul, and while her time will probably come around again, I don't have any desire to play a shaman right now.
So what is everyone else making? What server, what faction?

BlizzCon interview wrote:Most Priests are Alliance so we're making some Horde-centered priest game play for that.
...what?
I haven't been able to play my Horde priest at all this expac due to 'too many priests in group'.

Oh, no.
It's that your rhetorical skills and charisma have the audience rapt and silent.
This weekend, got assaulted by a friend who is always trying to get me back.
By assault, I mean, "Sit your ass down, look at this" and being shown a bunch of stuff from a Con and trailers for the Legion expansion and the movie.
The visuals are cool, I have to admit.
And while sitting and chatting and what-not. [what-not being adult beverages, and not-very-adult playing of Shadowrun for the first time in...what?...a decade-ish?] I told him I'd have to invest in a whole new computer to even think about playing it...
And THEN I realized that I'd been living with generally low-performance computers for a while now. And THEN I realized the only reason I'd EVER owned higher-specced computers was because I was playing WOW.
Now...does that mean I was wasting a whole lot of money/life/time playing WOW?
OR...does that mean WOW was causing me to keep up with life/the world??
If the world was like most of human history, probably the former.
OTOH...we live in a world now where most historically decent options...becoming a farmer, becoming a mechanic, etc. are really just "training to die poor."
So MAYBE I should be asking what's a decent [but reasonably priced] system that will enable me to have a name in Legion, [and if Monk's really are multi-capable depending on spec like druids were back when I played].
