Just got the newest Ego Likeness album, Breedless, which has been out for a month but I'm sooo out of the loop...

It's pretty awesome.

Listening to the 'plop' a cork makes when pulled out of a bottle. Cheers.

Put three of my more experimental instrumental pieces on MySpace... Also added "Catnip Lullaby", plus 3 oldies at the bottom. Check 'em out Kevin's Watchers!

Hey Lord Foul,
I managed to listen to your new songs...from the start to finish.

I did intend to comment on your older songs, months ago, but Dan beat me to it with that neat tractor beat song. I'm sure you remember.

Anyway, I find experimental music can be good for a change of pace now and again.

Now I'm listening to: Here Comes The Weekend - The Jam

from the album This Is A Modern World

True true. Tractor beat song? Hrmmm. I haven't checked older posts here on Vespers, so I must've missed dAN's comments.

It was the Foul's World Tour thread and the tractor was chugging in neutral to the song Georgie Brown.
:)
(that is, if you wanted to check it out)
At the time, I was going to say that I thought your acoustic songs were inspirational, because I play the guitar and knew I could do a lot better, but I couldn't find the right words to write this without sounding condescending. So I never made the comment.

Recently I've heard a philosophical idea that goes: whatever it is that you create, if you enjoyed the time and work creating it then the outcome is a success. Its now become my mantra whenever I compose some music.

and to get back on topic, I'm listening to Syd Barret's - The Milky Way

I play piano like a pro, but my guitar-ing is usually strumming and no chords. But yes; a great song lies within its ideas and energy, not how fast or adeptly one pays.

I'd like to think that a lot of my songs are far more memorable than many songs by people who actually have spent years training on an instrument (they often get lost in the technique and forget that songs are fueled by ideas--and distinctive ideas at that).

Yes, sir. I'm seeing them at the House of Blues in June actually. I really like the new record.

I'm listening to a piece called Proverb by Steve Reich; it's an organ and vocal piece with my signature as lyrics.

Was introduced to a new band today, Sleigh Bells, and I'm liking what I hear.

Someo f the stuff is very loud, lots of (deliberate) distortion, with a great beat to it, for example:

Music designed to sound like it's being blasted at full volume.

my favorite Gang of Four song.
For once, Sarge  I've beaten you to it! After our 'conversation' last week I bought their Entertainment cd (for something silly like £3.49). I like it! Ether is one of my faves, 'Some great men' and 'guns not butter' stood out too, but whole cd is good. I will DEFINITELY be checking them out at Glastonbury!

Seen this band at a festival in Ireland and loved them but had completely forgotten about them until tonight.

:D Very happy they're playing Glastonbury this year.
