While I was picking up Bringing Out the Dead, I found Season 4 of Silk Stalkings, and special ordered Eye of the Needle, an outstanding thriller starring Donald Sutherland and Kate Nelligan.
Almost done writing my review of THE MERCY OF THIN AIR: then I will put on Bringing Out the Dead, featuring one of Nicolas Cage's top performances, and Martin Scorsese's brilliant night city scenes.

Tom Sizemore is good in Bringing Out the Dead as well. (what a waste of talent that man is, he should be in prison)
saw Saw II last night, excellent.

You know, I really like Sizemore as an actor. He was good in
Heat, he was the perfect actor to play Pete Rose in
Hustle (an ESPN original movie) and I still say he deserved more recognition and maybe even a Supporting Actor nomination for
Saving Private Ryan.

It's almost painful to watch knowing that they axed it. We get tripe like Star Wars and Star Trek, and they shut down Firefly. No justice.

Howl's Moving Castle comes out on DVD tomorrow, as well as Whisper of the Heart. Two anime classics by Studio Ghibli! Definitely snatching those up.

I dropped in at Target on my way to work today. They always mark new dvd's down a little bit the first week they are released.
I got a bit of a kick out the fact the lady in front of me in the checkout line was getting Harry Potter 4 & Howl's Moving Castle. I got those two as well, along with some socks. The lady behind me in line was also getting those two dvd's.

Oh well, maybe I'll catch it one of these days on the History Channel. I enjoy shows about WWI and WWII.
Picked up used copy of
Mission To Mars for cheap. Didn't realize how fond I was of this movie until it aired last week and I ended up watching the whole thing again. Yes, I'll admit it was a cheesy, corny flick featuring some dubious science, but somehow the story just appealed to me. Call it a guilty pleasure.

Well, you can't argue with it.
