Fist and Chr-sty took Paul, Beorn, and me to dinner a year ago last Chr-stmastime when we were visiting MIL in Fist's neck of the woods.

We also got together one afternoon with Fist and his daughters for lunch and to play in the snow!

Sorry, I have a wedding to be at that weekend, and as I've already paid for the dress, one of the bridesmaids bailed and another's getting deployed before the big day, there's no way I'd back out even if I wanted to. (And for those who are complaining, I said I had this date booked several months ago, so nyah! No whining!)

It's official - I'll be there. Probably fly in Friday afternoon, and leave Sunday.

I was joking about the ARC, though. I just thought it interesting that once again the fest is just a few months before publication - so it's possible that an ARC might be out there by then.

Bob Vardeman was mentioned in a previous post - did you get ahold of him? I know him from World Fantasy and have his email address if needed.

Thanks to the FF miles, I'm flying in Thursday evening. I'm staying at the Country Inn & Suites near the airport, and will have a full-size car rented for the weekend, in case others need shuttling back and forth to their various hotel rooms and such. My return flight is early Sunday afternoon.

Can't wait to see you all!!

i'm just disappointed that Jay and Alynna are not going to be there. that's a TRUE BUMMER. totally understant Alynna's wedding thing but...jay...dude, it's just a weekend. it's important to us. YOU are important to us. think about it, pretty please.

Jay-

I don't get my Jenn. I don't get Alynna. That's bad enough, but the pain is mitigated by the fact that they have (good) reasons. You not coming would be another blow, and I really don't like... blows. They hurt. Anyway, it would mean so much to (not just) me if you came. Really. A lot. Please think it over. If there's any chance of bribery, please let me know, and I'll see if I can't work something out with other Watchers.

I'll leave for the airport at 7am on Friday (just taking carry on, so I don't need to stand in line to check bags and I can print my boarding pass at home). You can park at my house (which is only five minutes out of your way to Dulles anyway) and I'll drive up, or you can spend the night and save yourself the headache of the beltway at 6:30 am.

Double checked the dates for my exams; they're mid June; so I could conceivably make an appearance; however I am not inclined for staying for one week, catching a flight back, then getting another one a few weeks later back to the states; I’m not rich afterall.

However I hope you all have a great time.
