Av doesn't do fish of any kind Skyweir, but I knew a chef who did monkfish tail in red wine sauce that I bet would have won him over!

I had takeaway pizza.
I do however have a beef topside waiting for me to roast. I foresee cauliflower and cheese sauce, and maybe even Yorkshire puddings...

Roasted that silverside last night, so lunch (and dinner) today are going to be cold roast beef and dripping sandwiches.

Lunch yesterday with Menolly: shared eight pieces of albacore sashimi, three each ahi and salmon nigiri, and half maki roll each of ahi and salmon.
Brunch today with Dam-sel: I had Papas Rancheras - crisp country potatoes and cheese, topped with two over-medium eggs, served with red or green sauce, guacamole and sour cream. She had raspberry french toast with two over-easy eggs and a bacon rasher.

Today I took some slices of the ham from New Years, and made a sandwich with some of the pineapple chunks, mayonnaise, and spicy brown mustard. I had that with some navy bean soup I made with the ham bone in the Instant Pot for dinner yesterday.
The soup was good last night. It was even better today after sitting overnight.

Mmm, I second what Sky said.
Except I don't think I'd do pineapple chunks on a sandwich. (fresh or canned? this may be a silly question; I'm going to guess they're probs fresh)
but otoh, ham-and-pineapple-pizza.
I'm having a boring lunch... hot dogs sans bun + a microwaved potato & 1/2 a microwaved sweet potato.
but it's alright!

Pineapple chunks from the ham were canned tidbits, but they worked well on the sandwich.

My hubbie made whole-wheat bread yesterday.
So this afternoon I made and ate a much-sought-after chicken-tomato-and-mayo sandwich with melted Monterey jack cheese for myself.
(I also had some cooked veggies and brown rice, like everyone else.)
It may be hard to imagine the thrill I have over eating that kind of sandwich, so I will explain.
When I lived in Vancouver, (Canada) for 4 years, I learned that cheese was expensive there.
Meat was expensive. (compared to U.S.)
Money was tight, so we didn't buy those things much.
Ground beef, some.
Pork sometimes was crazy-marked-down.
Chicken, I think almost never.
I was pregnant and then nursing for the last year and a half of our time there.
So chicken became this coveted food / protein source to me.
And the ideal in my mind was to have a chicken sandwich (or "chee-chahn sandwich" as we called it) with mayo and tomato on bread (preferably homemade whole-wheat).
And I still love it.
Glad to know its allure has lasted.

Sounds good to me
I had a big sleep in this morning as didnt sleep the night before .. huge storm last night. I love storms as a rule but this was a little too scary ... heavy lashing rain and lots of wind
So will probably lunch
this afternoon some time. Plus I hate the wind ..
.. oh I mentioned that
Preoccupied
Lunch maybe a hot one today
