I noticed that too - but I'm confused, b/c the Cylons seemed to be monotheists but now they were referring to Jupiter/Zeus.Sorus wrote:In the last episode, whenever the Cylons said 'Jupiter', it was captioned as 'Zeus'. It always appeared to me that the humans were strongly influenced by Greek mythology and the Cylons by Roman, but it looks like a last-minute script change when the captioning doesn't match the dialogue.
Just a random thought...

Am I the only one who seems to get bored when they set foot on solid ground? I could've missed the first 45 minutes and not sweated it.
Strange. Last ep there wasn't a lot going on, but the dramatic scenes were intense. This one I felt like I was watching one of my wife's soaps.

"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

By and large, I agree. It is a space show, after all. I want as much of the plot as possible to happen in space.Syl wrote:Am I the only one who seems to get bored when they set foot on solid ground? I could've missed the first 45 minutes and not sweated it.
They'd better wrap up the love quadrangle darned quick!Syl wrote:Strange. Last ep there wasn't a lot going on, but the dramatic scenes were intense. This one I felt like I was watching one of my wife's soaps.

I'm a little annoyed with the way the DVD releases of Battlstar Galactica are being handled over here. Recently saw some eps of the show and got hooked, got the miniseries and season 1 DVDs, but that's where I hit the problem. One chain of stores usually has the season 1+2 box set, but none, not one single store, has season two on its own. Goddammit.
The DVDs (or illegal online stuff, natch) are the only way I can get to see these shows.

Buckle up, fanboys and girls: Battlestar Galactica is jumping to Sunday to escape a threat more deadly than genocidal Cylons: declining ratings. ''It's a good move,'' says executive producer David Eick, adding that going up against the fall armada of broadcast-network premieres for the first time ''proved too much to overcome.''
When the politically charged, spiritually angsty drama returns from its winter hiatus, the emphasis shifts from those sneaky Cylons to the Earth-searching, spacefaring humans. For starters, Adama (Edward James Olmos) faces a choice no man should have to make: Obliterate a planet to keep the Cylons from getting their synthetic mitts on the Eye of Jupiter, which holds a clue to Earth's location — or leave it be, since the blowout would kill his son Lee, a.k.a. Apollo (Jamie Bamber)?
We assume Adama finds a crafty solution, since Eick discloses that Apollo is slated to serve as a defense attorney in the war crimes trial of Cylon sympathizer Gaius Baltar (James Callis) and continue his adulterous romance with Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff), who's also married. Cracks Sackhoff: ''I don't know any other job where you get paid to make out with two different good-looking men and not be called a ho.'' Actually, we may soon call her ''Starchild''; revelations about Starbuck's abusive upbringing and her ''cosmic destiny'' prompt a dramatic life change. Starbuck's unfolding saga and a story line involving the identities of the final five Cylons, says Eick, combine for Galactica's ''biggest cliff-hanger ever.'' We can't resist: Holy frak! —Jeff Jensen

So, one of the Cylons said something about an adama being a Cylon, way back in S1 or S2 I believe. Is this revelation going to be exposed in the five remaining models the temple represents? Will it be Lee or the Admiral? Or an Adama we don't know yet? Maybe Lee had a tryst with a skin job, and never knew it, and that skin job had his hybrid baby?

Or, could it be Zak, who we've never seen?
Nah, probably not, just a thought.

Yea, that's what I was getting at, Zak (Wasn't he killed in the pilot miniseries, as with Zak in the original series?) or the sister. In the original series, the communications officer "Athena" was Apollo's sister. Sharon that is married to Helo is now call sign "Athena", so maybe no sister, afterall in this version, although Sharon (and starbuck) have always been like daughters to the Admiral.

It's just speculation, but, it's serious speculation based upon knowledge of the last few episodes (Plus the obvious stuff from earlier), so, if you've seen all the aired episodes (SciFi Channel America S3, first half) there's no spoilers.Fist and Faith wrote:Spoiler
