I'm eating dinner by myself cause my husband is on a conference call. He works from home. And I can't wait for him to finish his call so we can eat together cause I have to go out shortly for a meeting.

I actually found this place because I started re-reading the first chronicles 25 years or so after the last time, and am still reading them and checking here. I had forgotten how much I had enjoyed them before, and it's good to talk about them with like minded people.

Welcome, michaelm. You at least read the books 25 years ago, I neglected to because my friends were all "it's like Tolkien" and I knew nothing could be like Tolkien and I was a perverse twit anyway. So I was in my 40s before I read the books and then I was like, where have these been all my life? Then I found out there was more (2nd& 3rd Chrons)....

I'm at work early eating my breakfast, checking e-mail and Twitter and stuff.

And there you have my reason for finding the Watch. I was having an argument with friends on another forum who claimed TCTC was just a poor imitation of Tolkien and I was looking for arguments to refute them.

That other forum no longer exists, btw.

My reason for being here? Just checking stuff while eating breakfast.
