There is an absolute plethora of shopping opportunities in Albuquerque. Probably not a lot of haute couture, but plenty of good options...and arriving when you are, you will have ample time to browse and decide.

.... Or you might discover, due to a clerical error recording your birth 29 years ago, that your birthday is really June 20. (There was a mixup, for they couldn't tell you and Scarlett Johansson apart, you see.) We would then need to make up for those years of misplaced birthdays.

I'm planning on driving into Albuquerque on Friday the 20th, and leaving on Sunday the 22nd, my fiftieth birthday. I would like to stay longer but must get back to my job in Alpine, AZ. STILL, it will be great to meet as many of you as I can!

Will we see you before you depart on Sunday, Hurn? Surely we must, to toast your 50th!

Hey! Just checking in, I plan to pay the room fee next week and confirming the film crew, somehow. Romeo and Scott Brick aren't coming? Pretty sure Scott wants to come. Bob Vardeman will be here, of course.

Certainly, Menolly, I'd be glad to stick around and have a toast on that day, with my fellow Danaldson fans! Sounds like a great birthday experience. :D

Take a hike?

Last time, Cag and I didn't stick around long enough to go on the hike to "Andelain". I wanted to know if anyone was planning to do that again? My employer is going to lend me a rugged camera to bring along, and I wanted to test it out. And do fun stuff with the crew, of course.

Also, I very much hope Scott Brick comes. I'm listening to Last Dark on audiobook (the first time I've done it that way) and it's really amazing what he adds with his voice.

Rest assured that there is always lots of cooperation in providing rides for those who don't have cars. Last time, I had a big Jeep and typically had people from at least three hotels onboard wherever I went. I have a five seat sedan reserved this time (hoping for an upgrade...) and will have Menolly, Dam-sel and Dam-et with me, but there is at least one seat available if nobody else offers you a ride. That goes for dinner, as well as trips to danlo's throughout the fest period and various other excursions...although we are not sure whether we are going to Santa Fe the following week.
I'm flying to Denver to meet up with Cag and we'll be driving down from there, so we'll have transpo as well. I am volunteering him, because I am a dick.

It's more of a drive to Andelain instead of a hike. I think it takes about 2 hours to get there from Danlo's.
