For any Florida (or others who want to make the trip) Watchers...

Y'all are still welcome to come to Beorn's Bar Mitzvah in September as a gathering spot. I'll be a nutcase trying to coordinate everything over the weekend, but it is a home game weekend at The Swamp and I am sure you'll find plenty to do as well as coming to the (somewhat lame) party I'm planning for Saturday night.

Yeah, it was great to see everyone. I had a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone for coming down to DC.

Also, I wanted to give a big thanks to A, who did a lot of the planning, setting up, and more importantly, bought the Spamalot tickets for all of us. Thanks a lot, A! I think we all need to give A a big hand.

I really enjoyed Spamalot. The songs were great. But still, that seond act really just caught me by surprise...heh. Er...yeah... I donno. I know all of you loved the second act, but still, I just liked the first act better. Heh. :P

I think I'm going to have that "Find Your Grail" song stuck in my head for a while. Heh. What can I say, the melody is catchy. And I'm a sucker for good orchestra music.

Thanks again for getting the tickets!-jay

I'm just back from Romeo's, and I must compliment him for being such a gracious host. I could've spent hours in his office, looking at all of the the SRD books (not to mention the Whalen!) I also got to see the first draft of Fatal Revenant - "see" as in, behind a glass cabinet door. The question was asked "how far along is SRD on the 2nd draft of FR?" Romeo replied "I'm not allowed to tell you, he doesn't want anyone to know, so I took down and have hidden the 2nd draft." (paraphrasing from memory.)

There was some other stuff that we all discussed which will have to wait for another time, but trust me, it's really REALLY cool! Those 2 hours at Romeo's house was probably about the neatest 2 hours related to SRD that I've ever had.

We all said our goodbyes to Romeo and each other - Danlo is driving back to New York, Aliantha and daughters are on their way to a company picnic, Alynna went to do her thing, and Creator and Lucimay drove me back to my hotel and they're off to meet up with Recluse. If the rain ever stops, I'm going to try to take in more of the sights.

Speaking of DC sites, this was just posted on one of the AOL boards i frequent:

I had hear about this and thought it was just a rumor, but it's on the Smithsonian's website and some of the exhibits in the National Museum of American History are already closed.

So it's true. The National Museum of American History is closing for renovation for approximately two years. So if you want to see it you need to go before September 4 of this year, or after 2008 (it says it'll reopen "Summer 2008") americanhistory.si.edu/

It's the museum with the First Lady's gowns, the White House china, the locomotives, Archie Bunker's chair, the Ruby Slippers, Mr. Roger's sweater (sob!).

The National Museum of Natural History is open...that's the one with the Hope diamond, animals, geology, etc.

I nearly died when i read this.
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

Full of the heavens and time.

Yeah, me too. But, as Don explains, 'see' is a whole heck of a lot different than 'read.' But it's still really kewl.

Romeo's stuff was AWESOME!!!

And what until you all hear!!! 8O 8O 8O

Also, I agree with Jay - Alynna deservers MUCH applause, bows, and curtseys!! *I always trip when I curtsey! ;) * Her, organization was fantastic. And Aliantha did well arranging dinner after SPAMALOT and raising two precocious girls!

And speaking of one of them! Welcome to the Watch Batsutousai!!

It was great seeing everyone!!! We must do it all again and with MORE Watcher's.
He/She who dies with the most toys wins! Wait a minute ... I can't die!!!

No kidding! How cool was that? Jay, you are gonna be sorry you didn't go with us!

Obligatory   , followed by obligatory threat to tell the waiter it's your birthday every time we go to dinner together. ;) ;)

Thanks, all. some more. I'm glad everybody had a good time. It was really cool to meet everyone and to see again the folks I'd met before, and it was cool to talk to Fist, even though I didn't have much to say . We sure missed having you there, man! aliantha definitely deserves much credit for arranging dinner - I was quite honestly terrified at the thought of calling up a restaurant and saying, "Um, I'd like to make reservations for 13 people... for, like, eight hours from now..." Nice job. :)

I love that avatar, Batsutousai! (OMG, it's Draco! Squeee!) I didn't get a chance to hug you and your sis goodbye when we left Romeo's, so here's a long distance |G to both of you. You guys are a riot!

dlb, lucimay, I hope you guys have a safe trip home! danlo, I trust you got back to NY alright - it' s pouring rain here at the mo, so I hope you had better luck with the weather. (BTW, Tam's salsa is awesome! I think I'm gonna be done with the whole jar by tomorrow. Thanks again! )

DOH! <smacks head> I forgot to call Duchess again! DAMN! I'm really sorry, Duchess. I really wanted to have everyone talk to you, but with all the stuff we were seeing and hearing at Romeo's house, I completely dropped the ball again.

I can't say enough good things about Alynna. Creator, Luci and I have decided - she's our idea of what a manethrall would be like.

Um...you all better tell me what happened at Romeo's. Or I'm going to start banning you all. Seriously. I will have no mercy. I won't let 10 years of friendship stand in my way. None of you are safe.

Seriously. You better tell me.

You don't want to see me cry.

I mean it.

Total bannination.

Then I'm going to cry.

Massive banning the world hasn't seen since genesis.

Nothing will be spared.

Tell me.

Tell me.

Please?

...

........

Bah. Bums.

;)

Well...um...I got to sit on my ass all day with my thesis.......so who needs you or your secret! Nyeh! :P

Anyway, A, there's no reason to be embarrassed... I was serious, you deserve a big hand for helping with all of the organization and the planning and the driving and getting the tickets. Thanks, that's all.

I mean, I didn't do squat for this whole weekend event. Heh.

Anyway, back to my thesis I go. And the Season 2 Premere of The Venture Bros. starts in less than an HOUR! YAY!!!

GOD! I've been waiting over a YEAR for the new episodes of this show to start!!!

I can't wait!!!

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!

Heh, sorry, don't mind me.-jay
