well i never been to spain
but i kinda like the music...
wooo hoodey tell all!!

Oh, well, okay. Since you asked.
Spain was fantabulous. It rained in Seville while I was there (so no, Damelon, it *doesn't* just rain on the plain

). But it was still a very pretty place. In the cathedral, I got to see Christopher Columbus's crypt and climbed 34 ramps to the top of the Giralda. (I had to work off the churros and hot chocolate *somehow*.)
Granada was packed with backpacking kids

and my hostal was waaaaaay up in the Albaicin (crazy narrow streets with steps, etc.) -- if this nice lady on the bus hadn't shown me the way, I *never* woulda found the place. The Alhambra was every bit as amazing as advertised. I also got to see Ferdinand and Isabella's coffins in the Royal Chapel. (And Isabella's Bible, which is an illuminated manuscript -- I tell ya, it's *good* to be the queen -- and her rosary, which was a little creepy.)
The Moorish baths were THE BEST. Imagine, if you will: a space lit by candlelight...three still pools, one warm as bathwater, one warm as a hot tub, and one cold (so if you get overheated in the hot pool, you can dunk in the cold pool and go back)...lovely Middle-Eastern-ish music playing softly...cute boy masseuses (sp?)...*no* little kids playing Marco Polo...and "mint tea" that's basically warm, mint-flavored sugar syrup. Oh baby. We *need* these here in the States. I may have to go into bidness.
Madrid was big-city cool. Lotsa museums. And the royal palace was pretty cool, too. One room has porcelain walls -- no kidding. And I think I may have drooled on the display cases for the matched Stradivarius quartet (two violins, one viola and one cello). I also saw a flamenco show and ate paella and drank sangria and shopped. And nobody laughed when I tried to communicate in Spanish. So it was pretty much perfect.

I feel icky. My throat is killing me. I can barely swallow anything. I think I may have to suck it up and go to the doctor. *sigh*

SQ! If you can't swallow then I don't recommend sucking anything up....
