I went looking for Toll the Hound last week when I was home, but it cost £18.99 so I decided to settle for Making Money by Terry Pratchett. It's keeping me hooked, even though a friend gave the whole plot away a few weeks ago. First Pratchett I've read in years and years.

I'm currently reading the wintersmith, but it's going slowly because I've switched from reading to listening to old episodes of loveline to send me to sleep!

Making Money is much better if you read it immediately after Going Postal.

I just finished the 3rd of Stephen King's Dark Tower series.

Now waiting for the 4th from the library (and still waiting for the 3rd GAP novel, as well).

Rigel, are you following Avatar's suggested reading order for the Tower that includes several works outside the seven main novels? I really enjoyed reading it following his suggestions.

No, I wasn't aware of that. Since I'm already three novels in, I think I'll try that next time I read it (it's just getting better as I go through it, so I'm pretty sure I'll read it again :) ).

Since we both enjoyed Twilight so much, I ordered all 4 hardcovers in that series as an anniversary gift (we like to read together), so I'll probably be focused on those for a while.

The other works are first added in after book III, so you are at the perfect spot to add them, if you wish.

Well...other than Eyes of the Dragon. But I don't think it would hurt that much to read that one later than suggested.

I just finished the The Crow, the third book in the excellent Pellinor series by Allison Croggon. Up next is In the Eye of Heaven by David Keck. I got both from my local library. It's so nice to be able to take a chance on a book without spending any money on it! :)

Please let me knows how it goes--it's on the bookshelf, but I've put it off for a very long time...

It's a good 'un, danlo. I'll vouch for it.

Still plowing through the re-read of Reaper's Gale. My shiny copy of Toll the Hounds finally showed up yesterday (apparently airmail from Germany takes two weeks! 8O ) so I've got a powerful incentive now to finish RG....

Let's see, I just finished Crichton's Congo, and am now working on the following:
This Day, All Gods Die
Sphere-Crichton
The Tommyknockers-Stephen King
The Silmarillion-For about the umptinth time, I love this book!

Plus a few others which may not be considered fantasy/sci-fi.

Just read Neuromancer by William Gibson, which I think gets less credit than it deserves for originating the ideas on which The Matrix was built. I mean, Trinity (one of the best movie heroines of all time) even seems to have got her style and appearance from Molly (even if Trin didn't have Wolverine-style razors in her hands). Cranial jacks, Zion, the scrolling hieroglyphs... they really should have at least acknowledged.

I am so proud of my 12 y.o. daughter, who this summer read The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings, and is currently on The Silmarillion.

Haha. By the time I get to telling you I'll let you know you've already started.

So what do you think? I'm liking the gentlemen thing so far. I dig that sort of thing.
