Well, we don't have any concrete proof Widmore is part of Dharma/Hanso, I don't think, but, several connections leading to the possibility.

Mr. Paik, on the other hand, because of the online translation of his meeting that Sun walked in on, we know he is involved in business transactions, as he was talking about forging documents for a shipment (although the scene cut in, in the middle of the meeting, so it's unclear which side was shipping and forging documents)

Wow!
Just caught the Locke and Sawyer ep.
Could cut the tension with a knife!
Is it just me or is this the best season so far?

Not at the beginning of the season. I found it downright irritating. But it's picked itself back up. I still say the first season is the best as it was new and fresh and funky fresh and the fresh prince of bel-air. Some of the flashbacks this season seem a bit pointless at times, but hey...it's still fun to watch, and I'm glad that the ball is rolling. Then again, I remember season 2 starting slow and irritating, and I was loving all over it by the end of the season. I had guessed the ramp up to the season finale would be a happy thing this season too, and it is, and I'm glad. And all that.

It has picked up nicely. I wonder what secret Jack and Juliette are keepingfrom everyone and when Juliette's ultimate betrayal willcome to light as it must.

I think its up in the air as to which direction her betrayal will take. They made it TOO obvious what Ben asked her to do; it would be rather unspectacular if it unfolded that way.

Yeah, she's a wildcard. She was already ready to turn earlier, and went back in lock step. I suspect the breach will happen when it benefits her most.

Yea i think Juliet will somehow split the group, Jack standing with her and Sawyer, Sayid and co on the wanting to kill her.

I think Jack and Juliet have a plan to betray Ben, and they will stick to it. I think Ben is counting on Juliet to betray him, evidenced by the fact he gave Locke access to the recording Juliet left in the locker for him. Ben has a backup plan, though, that is not so obvious.

Or is he going to be dead by the end of the season? Oooooooooo I can't wait for finale.

I see Ben dying in the finale as a very possible option. Then Jack becomes the leader of the combined forces of the Benjamites and the 815 survivors, to fight off the coming Dharma invasion, furthering the whole tattoo thing "He walks among us, but, isn't one of us" and the leader bit.

I think the "Snake in the Mailbox" will not be Jack or Juliet, they've made it too obvious

The one thing I have learned is to always ALWAYS trust Sayid's instincts...he is ALWAYS right...without fail. Whatever he says happens or should happen.

Spoiler
Is it me or does it seem Locke has been shot about a dozen times. :-) I realize my perception of this comes from a lot of creative editing for previews. "Someone is killed in the next exciting episode of LOST." Then they show Locke falling down after a gunshot. Then you find out someone else was shot at and Locke was actually only kicked in the groin.

Better spolier that post there, Tom.

As for the episode...
Spoiler
it seems Locke is indeed SHOT..however Smoky/Jacob somehow will save him. Trust me, Locke is NOT dead.

What's more...re: Jacob, I think that Jacob or at least a physical form of Jacob is TRAPPED in or near the shack...remember the ring of powder that Locke was examining? The ring looked like ashes to me. In any way such rings are a way of keeping someone or something either inside or outside the circle in magic. So it's possibly a defense, or Jacob is trapped there and that's why he's asking for help? I still think that there is a chance that Jacob is smoky...or perhaps more likely that smoky is an extension of Jacob's conciousness as he cannot leave the "ring". One additional support for this theory: Note that Ben was drawn to the hostiles by an image of his mother wha was obviously another one of Smoky's dopplegangers (a la Christian, Eko' bro, the horse, etc.) Anyway, between Jacob's phasing in and out and "Richards" not aging at all (he looked the same from the early 70's until now for cryin out loud), it seems that the ORIGINAL denizens of the island are not aging, but cannot concieve on their own.

How they procured all of the resources they have after the great purge engineered by Ben and the hosyiles is another good question. Any theories? Windmore?

They do that freaky editing in the previews all the time.

In S1, the episode where Sawyer is being harrassed by the boar, the preview very clearly shows Sawyer standing there with a gun in a threatening manner pointing the gun, and then you see Jack's reaction, it's very clear in that preview that James is about to shoot Jack. Then when you see the episode, you see James is actually pointing the gun at the boar, with Jack nowhere near, and the reaction from Jack is an entirely different scene.

I just went back and edited mine...read my theory and respond there fellas. I think I might be onto something w/ Jacob and Smoky if nothing else.

I had taped this episode and looked really closely at the scene in the cabin.... it seemed like (and it could have been a trick of the light or shadow...but it seemed like smoky was appearing in the chair...I'll try to find a screen cap...)

Aha!

Image

Is this Smoky materializing in the chair? Is Smoky at the very least an extension of Jacob...since Jacob is trapped in the shack?

My opinion? These hostiles, including Jacob, are possibly people marooned from the Black Rock OR perhaps even original denizens from the original civilzation that existed here... I dunno. But how do they have massive resources OFF the island?

Jacob is Ben; Ben has psychic powers but he's a fruitloop sociopath and he imagines a 'Jacob' who does things.
Plus I liked how they explained the minibus full of beer that they found a few episodes back.

Wow, I just don't know what to think. It does seem there is a Jacob/Smokey the Bear connection, although it's not been drawn yet. And I think there goes my theory that Ben will die at the end of the season. His back story is just beginning, although they might still knock him off.
Spoiler
I would be very surprised if they kill Locke off, as he is one of the coolest characters. But his back story is pretty well sewn up at this point. No outstanding questions in it. So, from that angle, it wouldn't surprise me. But I hope it isn't true, as it seems he still has much to do and many secrets on the island to wrap up. He sure kicked ass last night.
