Bhakti won't be able to attend Albuquerque. I'm chaining him up in my basement and bolting the door.

Umm. . . I know I said I couldn't possibly come. . . but now I think I can. A definite yes, even, if I can work out the details before I get a new job. That is, if everyone still wants me to come. ;)

I would need to work out details very soon, though, so let me know.

Lyr, that's awesome!

What details do you need to know?

I may be able to make it as well... I just need to see if I can nail down some cheap air fare.

Believer, many of us are finding it cheaper to fly into Denver and car pool from there.

hmm, thanks for the suggestion, but it looks like out of philly the prices are practically the same/.. <shrug> i'll never understand the airline business!

Me neither. It was actually about $20 cheaper for me to fly *into* Denver and *out* of Albuquerque than do the roundtrip for either one alone.

Yay, Lyr!!!! And Believer, too!!!

Well, I've talked with the daughters, consulted the oracles, read the sheep entrails (okay, maybe not, but I *did* try several travel booking websites last night and that's a lot like oracles and sheep entrails) and it looks like both girls will be attending most/all of the E-fest. The variable is their grandmother's schedule -- I keep waiting for one of 'em to write to her but so far it hasn't happened. <ali taps her toe, rather forcefully>

Anywho, Batty is flying straight into ABQ on Friday and Younger Daughter -- who henceforth will be known at the Watch as MagickMaker because I'm sick of typing "Younger Daughter" -- is coming to Denver with me. Yoo hoo, Damelon, is there room in the car for one more? ;)

How many cars are we taking out of Denver?

Good question.

I'm getting one, but if we'll have to see how many people are coming into Denver. I'm thinking we'll probably have to have at least one more.

I am needing to know the whens and whats specifically, and wheres too. Waddley, do you need someone to share a room with? 'Cause that would make things a lot easier for me budget-wise. :)

Edited to add. . . just looked, and found it to be $120 cheaper to fly to Denver and then drive the rest of the way. 8O I may want to add myself to the caravan of road trippers. :D

Yes, Wylde- I would be happy sharing a room, since I can't with Jenn any more.

If you want to do hotel research, that's great, if you want me to, that's fine too. (Although I'll have to do it between working which can be a pain in the ass.)

hey guys,

if this info is buried somewhere in the thread, can you maybe put it on the first post as well, so that it's easy to find? i'm curious about:

where exactly the dinner with SRD and any other with-SRD events will be held. if it's at a house and you don't want to post the exact address, maybe a zip code? would help to pick a hotel. or is albuqeurque small enough that it won't really matter?

second, do we have a schedule yet? i'm looking at flying in friday night or saturday around noon, and leaving monday morning, but i want to be sure i don't miss the SRD dinner (is that fri or sat?)

thanks...

I should leave this for Danlo to answer. But I'm pretty sure the dinner with SRD will be Saturday night -- that's what they did last time, I believe. But I don't think we have a schedule yet.

Here's my itinerary (we're on ATA):

Flight Number: 4297
Flight Date: MAY-31-2007 625AM - 717AM
Departs: WASHINGTON
Arrives: CHICAGO (Midway)
--------------------------------------------------
Flight Number: 1185
Flight Date: MAY-31-2007 1000AM - 1125AM
Departs: CHICAGO (Midway)
Arrives: DENVER
--------------------------------------------------
Flight Number: 1111
Flight Date: JUN-05-2007 140PM - 525PM
Departs: ALBUQUERQUE
Arrives: CHICAGO (Midway)
--------------------------------------------------
Flight Number: 4292
Flight Date: JUN-05-2007 755PM - 1043PM
Departs: CHICAGO (Midway)
Arrives: WASHINGTON

I'm also thinking we will need another car. Let me look into it....

if you find a map, or "map quest" my house is roughly at San Mateo and Gibson. Which is close to the University of New Mexico, but closer to the AFBase and the airport, But don't worry the airport is down the hill so we don't hear any noise from it, nor do planes fly over the house.

My house will be center of operations, like it was last time. You want to find someplace close to my house to stay, there are tons of "suite" type hotel/motels around the airport. The dinner will be Saturday Night, like it was last time. It will be at a restaurant, where, I don't know yet. I can guarantee it will be much closer to my house than it was last time. The venue for the "interview" will be the tricky thing. I'd love to have it at my house, in the backyard-but the weather may be a factor. My house isn't big enough (yet) to hold it inside.

Don't worry...everything will be figured out soon enough...like last time everything will come together in time. Yes you should find a place to stay near my house-while Albq. is not that populated it is basically one-story and spreads out for miles-so area-wise it's dang big!
