just a minor quibble - but mrs.null is a forum member. she doesn't post often - but for counting purposes. :)

im coming from the UK and this is my first fest so would just like to know how the QA works.
Do i post my question or is it a free for all on the day?
I can't answer for how the first 'fest was done, but at the one in 2007 it was pretty much a free for all.
The first had a smaller group and was more of a roundtable Q&A.

Great to have you join us, Jonny!

Okay, so just so I understand, is the Q&A thing after supper on Saturday?

We are super excited about this. Unlike me (who read the Chronicles in high school and has re-read them about two dozen times since then), my GF is slowly coming up to speed.

I'm super excited too :)) this series of books has been a huge influence on me for 20 something years since I sobbed in bed as a 13 year old when Elena fell. All the characters and what the land meant as to an outsider kid growing up with parents that didn't want him gave me something better to believe in. I personally want to thank SRD for such a great story with great human values. The fact I'll be sharing this with like minded people is awesome. I only wish I'd known about the previous fests!

Looking forward to meeting all the E-fest noobs! :) Borillar, yes, dinner and Q&A happen at the same place -- we eat first, then have the program afterward.

I'm hoping my radiator is fixed by then. Stupid bitch Kate never responded to my request to put me up. Her sister Lilly probably will.
Where are we breaking bread with SRD? I hope they have free bread and cheap salad!
Me and Phyillie are having a baby.

Mazel tov, LZ!

Did you think you could casually sneak that in there unnoticed?

Well, my deadline for reserving the restaurant is the end of this month. Bob came up with a few good suggestions, unfortunately, we've agreed they won't work. I'll keep trying, will go through the Entertainment book to see if something, or two, strikes me. (I'm feeling so dead to the world today that if something struck me I may not feel it... :P :faint: ). The Cooperage (where we had it last time) is always a trusty option...

I see you took my joke about nude bathing in the hot springs in the Jemez seriously! Be careful, folks! On sundays the church crowd comes and brings their kids, so it might be best to pack a swimming suit or at least buy some underwear if you've been doing the "camando" thing as long as I have!

I frequent this website more than any other. There is larger a collective of brilliant minds anywhere on the internet IMHO, and I've been a computer person since 1980!

I'm planning to come down for a week or so as it's a long way, I wondered if any of you locals had some great tourist visits or places I should add to the weeks itinery?

Andelain! aka Valles/Jemez Caldera
...but I assume a trip there will be a part of 'fest itself. :hearts:

If you are into dark dank places, New Mexico is renown for a dive bar known as Carl's Bad Tavern.

(Yes, I am punning on another attraction, legitimately worth seeing. If Menolly's suggestion is to be likened to Andelain, think of this as Gravin Threndor. Not all that near Albuquerque, but if you are there for as long as you say, it would be a doable day trip for some time before or after Elohimfest)

Yes, Sarge. You and LZ share some aspects of your posting style. Yours is due to you taking your meds prior to posting. LZ's...well, I ought not speculate, but I remember certain practices/habits/vices that I left behind but never quite completely got over...

Rest assured, the primary audience that notes any writing anomalies are those of us who are both OCD and old enough to have the old-school rules of composition, grammar and spelling drilled into us. Everyone else takes it in stride as typical of the state of writing in the first quarter of the twenty-first century...
