so...it's monday morning.

i'm cleaning up my little room in The Weird Hotel, having my last cup of coffee before Super Shuttle arrives. there's no hot water in the Weird Hotel this morning so i'll have to go to Dulles looking like this  with glasses.

Saturday was great! we all met at Union Station (which is cooler than any Bart station in San Francisco and has TEN TONS of shopping!! ) i had two, yes TWO triple shot vente capuccinos before we ever sat down to eat any food. i was a tad talkative. luckily Aliantha brought her two teenaged daughters (19 & 17) who were lively enough to keep up with me!! they are great girls who have their mother's great warmth, intelligence, and FABULOUS sense of humor!!! the three of them together (ali and the two girls) are a formidable comedy tag team!!

most of the time we spent in Union Station is pretty much a blur to me now...two triple shot vente capuccinos. heh. i'm pretty sure i talked a lot tho because at a certain point Alynna and Batsutousai kept redirecting me to eat my food.

it went something like this...

Luci: blah blah blah blah blah

Alynna: she's talking again.
Batsutousai: which means she's not eating.

Luci: blah blah blah blah blah blah

Alynna & Batsutousai: EAT!

we did finally head out to the monuments...everyone wanted to see the new WWII memorial so we emerged from the underground and walked, in the horrifying heat, down to it, me blabbering all the way. (two triple shot vente capuccinos)

at around one we headed back to the underground and rode to the National Theater to see Spamalot!!
i don't have words to describe how FUNNY this musical is!!! every single broadway musical cliche is employed!! my favorite parts were the Laker Girls (minions of the lady of the lake!) and Not Yet Dead Fred!
the woman who was sittling next to me and i got the giggles when the laker girls brought out the pom poms and we couldn't stop giggling for 10 minutes, she'd giggle then i'd start giggling at her uncontrolable giggling and then she'd get re-giggling over MY uncontrollable giggling...we both had tears coming out of our eyes we were laughing so hard. it was grand!! and here i should mention that Batsutousai, when she gets REALLY tickled, has this ear-piercing laughter...all of us sitting in front of her had blood coming out our ears by the time the play was over!!

after the play we all met out front and i finally got to meet up with Lorelei and her boyfriend Jeff and then we walked to the restaurant, Les Halles. it was a bit stuff in the restaurant but the food was pretty good! i had Duck Confi! yummae!!!

we took photos and jabbered until the heat in the restaurant forced us outside again where, much to our surprise, it was 10 degrees cooler!!

it was great meeting lorelei and jeff and i was sad to find out they weren't going to be able to join us at Romeo's on Sunday. also met Alynna's mom who is a sweetheart! two friends of Aliantha's also joined us for the play and one stayed for dinner.

after dinner we all went our separate ways and Creator dropped me at the Weird Hotel for the evening.

well, it's time for me to gather my bags now and check out...i'll write more about Romeo's on Sunday when i get home to San Francisco!!

stay tuned!!

I made it home, er, to NY after battling rainstorms and end of weekend traffic jams. Going to return rental right now, shopping with Mum then connecting with Bardo (my best friend, Rodney) and, hopefully Fist. A big :P to Esmer who could have easily took the train and rode with me in my huge black Buick "pimp-mobile" Chicken! Anyway, I'd like to type more but my parent's dumb modem/AOL logs me out every 10 minutes. Later!

:haha:

And we all know where THAT question came from.... ;)

Just made it home from the airport. It freakin' rained almost all day yesterday so I didn't get to do any more sight seeing. On my way walking back from a restaurant last night I got caught in a cloudburst and had to run almost a whole mile, I was absolutely drenched.

Many thanks again to everyone for a great weekend!

We? Who is with you, DLB? I think it's clear that the question came from me; I clearly asked it! You're not ingesting your profits again, are you? Paranoia, seeing double.....I think you need a 12 step program.

I do say so, seeing as how you're not saying what it is you think is so obvious.

A manethrall, huh?  That's what I'd like to be in the Land, actually (heh, that or a Ranyhyn). LOL, you guys are good. And far too flattering. :P

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll just kayak to work tomorrow.... assuming I get out of here tonight. The driveway here was half flooded when I came in, and it's all the way across the road for about a hundred feet now. Had to stop for a creek running through the road on the way in, too. What a mess. Shall I paddle by your place and give you a lift, Lorelei? ;)

If you already have the kayak out...sure...I'll help you paddle. :)

I actually saw some sun here in Columbia this afternoon....

Anyone remember a movie about this planet where it rains every day and the sun only comes out once every 100 years or so....that's what it feels like....

Wow, I knew that flights out of National were canceled for Sunday night but I never dreamed that she'd be held up the next day.
