Ironically, I have had no errors at all today.

(Maybe I shouldn't speak too soon. :P )

It's 5:26, got this several times in a row, and every time, then it went away.

5:05 pm EST, about 10 min ago, I got "Could not connect to the database" for a while.

Something is definitely odd about this time of day.

Hint to sarge: by the time I can post a "I got a database error", the problem is gone.

Those are the ones I get when I get errors, generally.

But I haven't gotten any today.

I am just demonstrating that there seems to be a daily time period where we get certain kinds of errors. This could be traced back to something going on on the server.

It's not going to help, tho -- I think the server's in, like, Singapore.

I suspect there's some utility they have programmed to run at that time every day, which happens to coincide with 4:00pm Eastern Time.

Could well be right. Although, those errors don't only happen at that time, so there are other factors too.

That is 5 a.m. in Singapore...not a usual time for maintentance procedures in most data centers, but possible, I suppose.

They're usually scheduled for their off-peak hours. Anyway, I think it's Hong Kong. (Where the servers are. That's certainly where the hosts are registered.)
