Oh gosh...

I must have reread my submittal at least twice a week since deadline.

It will be nice to get results and move forward. But, I can still wait if I need to.

So I'm at work just now. In the van in an ice cream store parking lot. The phone rings from a number I didn't recognize. Different area code even. I was going to let it go to voicemail, like I usually do in those cases. But, for whatever reason, I answered it. You know the pause you get when the computer transfers the call to the telemarketer? Yup, that's what I got. Then some clown with an accent says, "Is this Eric?" "Yes." "Hello? Is this Eric?" Oh great! It's gonna be one of those calls! "Yes! This is Eric!" "This is the Allfather." ...... "What...?" "This is the Allfather."

I had txted him a few hours earlier. He said he thought it was time he called his "most fervent follower." My coworker said I looked and sounded stunned, and I certainly was! Heh. You can imagine how glad I am that I've always ignored Pam's endless chatter about how "Xar deserves a life outside Pantheon." Blah blah blah. We talked about what our coworkers must think when we talk about Pantheon on our cells. Especially when he, working in a genetics lab, discusses creating outrageous plagues with Paolo.

I have to admit I'm surprised the computer switching didn't sound like the call of a sentinel raven... ;)
