I'm gonna go poke the universe in the eye with a sharp stick to remind it that it was supposed to be nice to you this year.

How long ago did this happen, Lorin?

Get better soon!! :bestwishes:

Then you can get frisky...

...and when you finally can productively get frisky, lorin, may there be the right person there to bare with you!

Until then, heal well and quickly...while contemplating those future revels.

Glad it wasn't worse, Lorin, wish it were better.

Rest up and BE HEALED! {It is at this point that Orlion thrusts his open palm into the air... but no one is around his area in the university library, and everyone is looking at him... judging him... "I'll show you all!" He cries out with teary defiance* and stumbles into the cold streets of Ohio. His vision blurred, he doesn't see the lamp post he runs into. The force of the collision causes the snow to cover Orlion in that humid, cold wetness that only exists in Hell and Ohio. At least no one is around to witness this new humiliation, everyone is studying or getting drunk with friends. Sniffling and crawling, he makes it to his car and drives home, only to be ambushed by his cat.

Orlion wakes up the next morning and finds that his credit cards and that twenty dollar bill are missing from his wallet.}

In a bout of introspection found myself reading wikipedia articles on various personality disorders. It's kind of frightening how much I recognise from the descriptions of things like ADHD predominately inattentive, Schizoid personality disorder, social anxiety disorder, or avoidant personality disorder. None of them exactly what I experience but lots of bits that come close.

I don't know whether I'm just being paranoid.

Get well, Lorin. And use your bed-rest well - all kinds of things you can indulge in that you wouldn't have time for otherwise. (It's all in how you look at it.)

omg i've done the same thing dude!! :lol: don't do it. stop doing it i mean, reading that stuff. honestly, you'll then just worry about what's wrong with you all the time. if you're honestly worried about yourself, go talk to someone else (a professional) about it okay. don't second guess yourself cause that will make it worse. trust me on this one bub. and have one of these :hug: and yes, you're just being paranoid :lol: but :hug: anyways.

also one for ms. traction up there...good grief lorin, :hug:

Trust me, you are. :lol: It's like perusing various symptoms on WebMD. Pretty soon you think you've got some vile disease that's going to do you in tomorrow.

The Washington Post has this "medical mysteries" column. One week, they featured the story of a woman who suddenly developed a runny nose, but it was always clear fluid and it was all on one side. She had no history of allergies, but hey, anybody who stays in DC long enough gets 'em eventually. Finally she saw some specialist who ordered her into the hospital stat. Seems she had some kind of cranial fluid leakage that was basically going to kill her if she didn't have brain surgery immediately. So anyway, I'm reading along, and one side of my nose is leaking, and... :crazy:

I doubt any full blown disorders, but I do have some pretty bad social anxiety problems (I can problem get past them, but I'm only slightly better now than I was 10 years ago). And I got looking at the ADD inattentive thing first because I was looking into explanations for why I've never been able to motivate myself to do pretty much anything most of my life. I never finish what I start, and I avoid having to do stuff (like homework, coursework, the final year project at univeristy that I wrote overnight for the day of turn in) by just going back to my regular mindless entertainment.

Does anyone else here ever wonder if they're mildly autistic? I have that suspicion about myself from time to time...

Being the mother of one who is officially "mildly autistic, " I will say, "all the time" as far as wondering regarding myself. Even though all the assessments I've taken so far say "no."
