Thanks, deer! I made that a bunch of years ago during my psychedelic period.

Hey now! The menagerie is NOT for eating. 8O

And no, you're not completely alone. |G Though it's rough living alone with health issues - been there, done that, live in fear of having to do that again. Hope you feel better soon.

Get better soon, lorin!

Best of luck for all the job-seekers! 8)

Soooo day 2 of ali's waterless adventure is drawing to a close. The repair crew fired up something new about an hour ago. It was giving off sparks -- pipe cutter? welding blowtorch? I couldn't see exactly what they were doing, as it's dark out there now. Anyway, they managed to get the heat turned back on today, and I live in hope that water service will soon be restored, too.

Yes, everyone, get better..... and showered 8O

I had an ok day, nothing amazing, nothing really bad. I did have one odd moment on my way home where some crazy girl yelled at me because she found my star wars messenger bag offensive. She was behind me on the long escalator leaving 16th st BART and she starts talking loudly about how insensitive I am and what a stupid bitch I am and how I have no right to sport derogative clothing that makes fun of our military. I turn to look at her and she's a young gal who has the hardened look of someone who's already seen a large amount of heavy drug use. So I told her she needed to calm down. That of course was the wrong thing to say. She went off a bit more so I told her she needed to make sure to take her meds BEFORE she left the house. Just then we got to the top of the escalator and she pushed past me and yelled, "Our troops are NOT storm troopers, they are real people you f--king beeyach! And all I could do was laugh so she stomped off all pissed off. The image on the bag is of a group of storm troopers and the slogan across the top says, "Support Our Troops." Inside is a picture of Darth Vader saying, "The emperor wants you!" I think it's funny. Oh well. What can I say.

Still no water. Sigh. I wonder if there's a point where the apartment management needs to offer us alternate accommodation, just from a public hygiene standpoint.

Leaving early for the gym now...

don't know about alternate accommodations, but they have to abate your rent, at least in nyc they do.

Jenn, I think maybe she did take her meds before she left her house.

And I wish the cold weather and ice would stop here so we could go out for walks in the evening. Though, we had an unusually small amount of snow this year. That didn't stop the temperatures from being below 0 all the time, though.

I just saw that in your status on FB. Sucks. Hope they remedy the problem soon!

Thanks, MsMary. :)

lorin, I looked up our county's landlord-tenant info online. Looks like they've got a nice, long grace period before any sanctions kick in. It would be nice if they gave us a rent break, but I'm not going to count on it. At least they're starting to give out gallons of bottled water. And this morning they had doughnuts and coffee in the lobby for us. So they're not jerks...

For my Facebook friends and those who may post with me elsewhere, I ask that we keep discussion of this, should any follow, strictly here on the Watch. There are too many on Facebook and elsewhere who may react negatively to this.

Many here know about my relationship with Savor Dam, Dam-sel, and Dam-et. Yesterday hyperception finally confirmed (after several months of suspicion on my part) that he has someone else in his life as well, only she is local. Since Beorn is back home and needs our support to get back on track, and I am dealing with health issues, we need to stick together for now to get through these trying times. hyperception has been accepting of my trips out west, and I am trying to be just as accepting of his relationship. But it is so hard and I am currently hurting...

Much as I have no right to be the one tossing hard truths around, there is a pithy saying about sauce for the goose being fit for the gander as well.

hyperception has extended acceptance to you for some time. Extending him the same courtesy is unquestionably challenging and pain-ridden...but it is the right thing to do. He is as deserving to seek his path as any of us.

I know Beorn's needs and your in-flight health issues pretty much dictate that you must remain where you are for now...but as things evolve (slowly or suddenly) Dam-sel and I will make sure you have somewhere to go when needed for whatever time it is needed.

Sorry for everyone's woes. I was having a good day until just before I went home. I'm so pissed off at the hypocrisy of some of my co-workers that I am nearly choking with rage. I will vent it out in my blog but if you care to read it be prepared for adult language.

Hope it wasn't me. 8O

Sorry folks who are having a lousy week. I once had a landlord who left the whole building w/o water on a holiday weekend because she didn't want to pay for someone to come out to fix it on a holiday.

It has been a lousy week. I can't believe it's only Tuesday. I was angry about work earlier today when I was given an arbitrary and pointless deadline to complete a job without the necessary tools to do so.

Then I got stuck on the train because the train ahead of me broke down in the tunnel. And I realized I should have taken the bus because I needed to go to the market, so I had to walk to the market from the train station and I was followed by a nutjob who kept insisting that Thor needed my inseam measurements.

OF COURSE IT WASN'T YOU SORUS!!! YOU NEVER do things that piss me off. People, Sorus is one of the most hardworking and under appreciated people I know. She's my pillar of strength, my source of understanding and my provider of much needed comic relief. I am WAY more likely to piss her off than the other way around.

Oh, before I forget and get totally sidetracked, the star wars bag is intended to be a play on recruiting for the dark side, not a slur against the american military. In the three years I've had it, every single person who has commented on it or laughed about it has gotten that. If I offended anyone by my description it was unintentional. I think you have to see it to understand.

I got it the first time I saw it. It's cool. (And that's me speaking as someone who is not a Star Wars fan.) The nutjobs are out in full force this week though.

Jealousy is a basic human emotion, overcoming it is truly a huge accomplishment. But I will speak from experience when I say that once you overcome it, it is truly freeing. When my ex-fiance left me for another person it hurt, at first. But I pushed through it and we ended up better friends for it. And there is a peace in that. I wish you well.

I was glad to see you say that. As we might say here, "Sterkte!"

An expression used to wish someone the strength to persevere. (Lit. "strength.")
