Menolly: It always feels like a betrayal when your spouse finds someone new -- even after the divorce is final. Sorry for your troubles...
Sorus wrote:...and I was followed by a nutjob who kept insisting that Thor needed my inseam measurements.
Sorry, Sorus...I know, but...I...just...I... :haha:

Sorus: I'm aghast!

Menolly-sorry for your troubles, but, to some degree, I feel like I just watched an episode of Desperate Housewives... :P

I'm guessing I should be glad I've never seen the show?
Sounds awful...

Did I mention that the water's back on? If not...the water's back on. As of yesterday evening. I was never so glad to flush a toilet in all my life...

Today was not a good day at work.
I came home with 11 stitches in my forearm,
thanks to a hand-crank wench that busted loose
while raising a 30 lb water pump out of a sewage lift-station.
Another 3 inches closer to the spinning handle,
I could had ended up with a broken arm. I got lucky.
My co-worker bruised his hand really bad also.

The wench was replaced about an hour later.

So sorry, Cheval
Glad you are not more injured
By this work mishap

But the wordplay urge
Tugs very strongly at me
About your "wench" tale

Neglected wenches
Carry some severe hazards
Compared with winches

Both have their uses
And both can cause grievous harm
Without proper care

What about Sarge?

So sorry, Menolly.

In spite of chronic pain and a long list of things to do after work, I'm having a great day.

yay! We got a new princess!
www.expressen.se/nyheter/kungligt-live/ ... ungababyn/
For those who don't know, the king is called Carl and his daughter, Victoria, just had a baby. Victoria is the first born child of the king and will become queen when he dies. She wasn't born crown princess, though- they changed the law after she was born so that the first born, not the first born son, was next in line. So, her baby is now third in line and will become queen after Victoria.

i know, not big news outside of sweden, but it is big news here. :D

Yeah
I must have been having flashbacks to something else...

Although the co-worker is a b***h at times.

Yeah, you can laugh. You weren't singled out by the mad disciple of a deity who isn't known for having any tailoring skills. I mean, I could use some new pants, but do you really think I'm gonna end up with something that meets dress code? And I'll have to wear them anyway to be polite, and I just don't think 'Thor made them!' is going to fly at work.

This is a very serious matter, and I don't know how I get into these situations. I think I'd rather wrestle vicious wenches in a sewage lift-station.

(Glad you're okay, Cheval.)

Major Ditto here agrees with you Sorus. :(

Sometimes I think I need a new job, but so many of the blasted things expect you to get out of bed. What is it with that anyway?

Dunno, but let me know if you find out.

I did get some good news today and some positive feedback from my store manager. And I just posted some ADORABLE hecka squee worthy images in the Apologies to Avatar thread. AND I almost doubled my sales goal again today. So it wasn't a total waste.

FOR SALE OR TRADE

One not so gently used body. Well traveled, able to endure rough roads. Has climbed many peaks and slid into many valleys with limited damage. New owner should reside near level roadways with little visual obstacles. Provide regular maintenance and she should run for years to come.

Looking to buy or trade for younger model, preferably an all wheel drive.

All reasonable offers considered.

But you can still post, lorin. ;) Hope you're feeling better soon...

Oh heck, let's make that, "Hope everybody's feeling better soon." Including you, Cheval.

And extra dittos to Sorus. We had Monday off, too. Why is it that four-day work weeks seem longer than the regular ones? :(

In other news, my Nook appears to be dead. Yesterday morning, it wouldn't shut off. Now it won't turn on. :( Not sure how long the warranty is good for. I figure I'll take it back to B&N this weekend and see if they can figure out how to resuscitate it. I'll be an unhappy camper if I have to replace it.... (At least I have a Nook app on my phone, so I can still read the book I was in the middle of...) Yeah, yeah, I know, this is never an issue with a dead-tree book. :P
