Yes, Milos. :) So, you're on the right track, here, Avatar! Sorus shoots Nick when she gets him to look at Milos, but what did she say about Milos that distracted Nick?

That he was there to force her to do their bidding? Or that he would mutate her / them?

I like how you slip in two guesses for almost every post, lately--very efficient of you! ;)

Yes, Sorus shoots Nick after she tells him that Milos is about to release an airbourne mutagen. Nick looks at Milos, and Sorus makes Nick history.

You got it, Avatar! In your honor, here's a chorus of smilies singing your praises:

When you have a new question, just SING IT OUT! 8)

Ok...when Morn and crew have the formula for the anti-mutagen, they take it to a very specific place...the lab run by Beekman (Bleekman?) to get it formulated. What is Beekman doing in that lab, and why is the location ideal for it?

I think Deaner Beekman wanted to study the effect of black holes on physiology, and wanted to make people that could survive closer and closer to a black hole, if possible. The Massif-5 system had at least one black hole in its center, I think.

Thank you, Avatar! This may be an easy one, considering the character, but I'll try this question:

What does Chief Mandich advise Warden Dios to do when Calm Horizons is seen approaching UMCPHQ?

Fire on it? (Ok, total guess. :D)

CORRECT, Avatar! Chief Mandich kind of "forgets his place" with Warden for a moment when he tells him to "Hit it now!" :rocket:

Good job, Av!

Damn...:D Ok...why did the Amnion let Nick and his ship leave Enablement station?

I believe they wanted to see if Nick and his crew could (unknowingly) test their experimental drive components to see how close Captain's fancy could come to accelerating to light-speed.

Here's my new question, concerning a moment in time when Trumpet is approaching UMCPHQ and Calm Horizons:

What reason did Min give Holt for refusing to discuss anything with him through a secure private transmission?

She wanted everybody to hear what he said? (Although, not sure she would tell him that...not enough channels?)

She told him everything they said via ship communications was on the record, sure. but she gave him a legal reason they couldn't talk off the record like he (Holt) wanted. What reason did she give Holt?

He wasn't her boss?

In This Day All Gods Die was wrote:"Center has recorded your orders. But as it happens," she remarked, as if she trusted the Dragon to agree with her, "you can't actually give me any orders. Under conditions of war, only Director Dios has the authority to command the defense of human space. The next time I talk to him, I'll ask him if he wants me to do what you tell me.

"At present I have no instructions to surrender anyone or anything from Trumpet to you."

Again she justified Davies' desire to believe in her.
