So, I found tickets for $283.68(including tax). They were the cheapest I've found. Unfortunately, they get me back into the DC area at 5am on Tuesday...and I don't want to do that...
My other option is $318.50(inc. tax). Those get me back to DC at the more reasonable time of 9pm on Monday. However, I'm $17 short of that in my bank account currently.

Also, both flights get me into Denver at 7:32am. So I'd just have to hang out at the airport for a while....oh, wait, Ali, aren't you getting in around then?

Anyway, I'm debating...any input (financial-Aliantha-as well) is welcome.

In theory, I'm getting into Denver around 7am. But Amtrak's cross-country trains are notoriously late (as in *hours* late), so you might well beat me to town if you get in at 7:32am.

Which reminds me, Thelma and Louise: Be sure to check with Amtrak for an updated arrival time before you head to the station to pick me up. Or bring a book. ;)

Magickmaker, I might be able to help you out. Let's pursue this tonight....

that would be fabulous, thank you! I'm REALLY excited about the more expensive one, cuz it was the 2nd cheapest, and it gets me back to DC at a better time, AND!!! there's a 2 HOUR layover in Dallas!!!

Also, both flights are in and out of Dulles.

Having never been to Texas, is a two hour layover a good thing?

I have a two and a half hour layover in Dallas/Fort Worth on the way out, and a 90 minute layover also in Dallas/Fort Worth on the way back...

My roommate lives outside of Dallas. I'm there for long enough, that it would be worth her while to visit with me!

Alright Menolly, and everyone else!
I'm flying into Denver at 7:32am on Friday.

I'm flying out of Denver at 10:58am on Monday.
Menolly, I'll be in Dallas from 1:53pm to 4:43pm.

Both flights are United.

oy...
I don't think I leave Denver until nearly 2:00 PM on Monday.

Hang on...

I arrive in Dallas on Monday as your boarding your flight out. And my flight departs at 5:55 pm.

But, after three nights in fairly...intimate...quarters, that will probably still be OK... ;)

You're arriving in Denver at 7:32am?

What time are you leaving D.C., midnight?

lol, no, I'm leaving DC at 6am. I have a direct flight on the way out. My options were getting in at either 7:30am or like 6pm or later.

Ah. I thought that you had a layover in Dallas involved in that flight. Makes sense now.

Lucky.

I wish I could have found a direct flight in either direction. I get so...fuzzy headed with multiple take-offs and landings...

Well, the one I mentioned that was the cheapest, was direct in both directions, but I really didn't want to fly overnight on the way back.

Hmm, let me check with Reserve America to see if the campsite is available Thursday night. If so, I'll extend the reservation. I'll let you know either way.
